Athabasca Basin: Global Uranium Epicenter
The Athabasca basin in Canada contains the planet’s most substantial known uranium reserves at superior ore grades, as documented by Canada’s natural resources department. BHP has established an expanding footprint in Saskatchewan, currently constructing what will become the globe’s most extensive potash extraction facility. Additionally, the company generates approximately 5% of worldwide uranium output as a secondary product from its Olympic Dam copper mining operations located in South Australia.
