TLDR
- Ondo Network separates execution, verification, and settlement to improve speed, privacy, and blockchain-based market transparency.
- Ondo Perps becomes the first live application, supporting high-performance perpetual futures for open financial markets.
- Secure enclaves handle private execution, while decentralized attestors verify activity before blockchain settlement occurs later.
- Ondo says the network can support spot markets, structured products, lending, and other financial applications.
- Future updates may add proof-of-stake security, onchain state settlement, selective privacy, and new staking roles.
Ondo Finance has launched Ondo Network, a new execution layer for open financial markets. The network is designed to support fast, private, and verifiable applications without requiring a traditional standalone blockchain.
Ondo Network Expands the Ondo Chain Vision
Ondo introduced the network as the next stage of its earlier Ondo Chain vision. The company said the first version is now live and will support financial applications that need execution speed, privacy, and verifiable correctness.
The network separates three functions that many blockchains place on one system. Enclaves handle private and high-speed execution, decentralized attestors verify activity, and blockchains handle asset transfer settlement.
Ondo said the design keeps applications non-custodial while giving users a faster trading experience. The company described the network as fast and private like a centralized exchange, verifiable like a blockchain, and non-custodial by design.
The shift came after Ondo built Ondo Perps and reviewed current market infrastructure limits. The company said the main problem was not settlement, but the speed and privacy of execution.
Ondo Perps Becomes First Live Application
Ondo Perps is the first application powered by Ondo Network. The platform is a high-performance perpetual futures market built for users who need faster execution and private trading infrastructure.
The company said Ondo Network is not only for perpetual futures. Spot markets, structured products, lending markets, and other financial applications can also be built on the same infrastructure.
Ondo said financial systems have often forced users to choose between speed, privacy, control, and verifiability. The company argued that those tradeoffs came from placing execution, verification, and settlement in one place.
By separating those functions, Ondo said each part of the market stack can use the right technology. Execution can happen quickly and privately, while settlement remains tied to blockchain-based asset transfers.
Network May Add More Blockchain Features
Ondo said future development could include a wider attestor set, proof-of-stake security, onchain state settlement, added cryptographic proofs, selective privacy, and new staking roles.
Those planned additions could make Ondo Network look closer to what users expect from blockchain systems. The company said that includes independent operators, shared history, economic security, cryptographic checks, and open rules.
Ondo also said the network is a continuation of the original reason behind Ondo Chain. The company said the network is not a blockchain today and does not need to be one in its current form.
However, Ondo expects the distinction to become less clear as the network develops. The company said the future of open financial markets will depend on speed, privacy, robustness, verifiability, composability, and access.
Ondo framed the launch as a technology shift based on market needs rather than a fixed blockchain plan. The company said its broader goal remains a financial system that is composable, non-custodial, verifiable, private, and accessible.
