The $12 price point had previously served as a significant resistance barrier during recent trading sessions. The breakthrough above this level sparked additional buying interest, with September 18’s expiration of $12 strike call options potentially amplifying the upward momentum.
Morgan Stanley wasn’t alone in reassessing the stock. H.C. Wainwright launched coverage with a Buy recommendation and established a $20 price objective, suggesting approximately 68% upside from current levels. Their bullish stance focuses on MARA’s strategic transformation from Bitcoin mining operations toward AI-focused data center infrastructure.
This strategic realignment encompasses a planned acquisition of Long Ridge Energy alongside a collaborative venture with Starwood Capital aimed at converting existing mining facilities into advanced computing centers. H.C. Wainwright identifies this strategic transformation as the primary catalyst for future value creation.
