The Finnish telecommunications equipment manufacturer closed Monday’s trading at $9.13. Tuesday’s trading activity registered approximately 65.5 million shares changing hands, representing a decrease of about 20% compared to the stock’s typical daily volume of 81.4 million shares.
The company disclosed second-quarter earnings per share of $0.08, exceeding Wall Street’s consensus forecast of $0.07 by one cent. Revenue expanded 8% on a year-over-year basis to 4.82 billion euros, equivalent to approximately $5.60 billion. While earnings topped expectations, revenue fell marginally short of the $5.57 billion analyst consensus.
The Network Infrastructure division delivered particularly strong performance, recording 12% revenue expansion. Within that segment, Optical Networks surged 19% while IP Networks posted 15% growth.
Cloud and AI Segment Experiences Explosive Growth
The standout metric capturing market attention was the company’s AI and Cloud revenue performance, which skyrocketed 103% compared to the same quarter last year. Chief Executive Justin Hotard highlighted persistent demand originating from artificial intelligence data centers as a primary growth catalyst. Market participants are progressively viewing Nokia through a different lensāless as a traditional telecommunications vendor and increasingly as a critical infrastructure provider supporting AI expansion.
Hotard also discussed the company’s approach to managing supply chain challenges. Anticipating memory component constraints that could extend through 2027, management intends to negotiate extended supply commitments, modify product architectures where feasible, and transfer increased input costs to end customers.

On the institutional ownership front, multiple asset managers expanded their positions during recent reporting periods. Fifth Third Bancorp dramatically increased its holdings by 248.7% in the fourth quarter. Institutional investors collectively control 5.28% of outstanding shares.
