Shares of Amer Sports (NYSE: AS) surged 6.60% during Tuesday’s pre-market session following the company’s announcement of second-quarter financial results that exceeded analyst projections on all key metrics.
The company reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.22, surpassing the Street’s forecast by $0.11. Total revenue reached $1.63 billion, significantly exceeding the consensus estimate of $1.54 billion.
The substantial pre-market rally highlighted investor enthusiasm over the dual earnings beat and the company’s decision to raise forward guidance, providing additional catalyst for momentum.
Quarterly sales increased 32% compared to the prior-year period, representing 30% growth on a constant-currency basis. The expansion was consistent across all business segments and regional markets, demonstrating the kind of comprehensive growth momentum that typically attracts investor interest.
The Technical Apparel division posted 32% revenue growth, with Arc’teryx delivering a 17% omni-comp performance. Outdoor Performance emerged as the strongest performer with 37% growth, powered by Salomon Softgoods. The Ball & Racquet segment expanded 24%, propelled by Wilson Tennis 360’s performance.
CEO James Zheng commented: “All segments, geographies, and channels achieved strong double-digit growth led by another exceptional quarter from Salomon Softgoods, a strong Arc’teryx omni-comp, and a Wilson Tennis 360 acceleration.”
Profitability Shows Significant Improvement
The company’s adjusted operating margin reached 12.8%, representing a 730 basis point year-over-year expansion. This figure included a 390 basis point contribution from net tariff refunds.
Excluding the tariff-related benefit, the core operating margin still expanded by over 300 basis points. This indicates the profitability gains reflect sustainable operational improvements rather than solely temporary accounting benefits.
CFO Andrew Page noted that the company’s strategic investments are “paying off in the form of strong momentum across our three largest opportunities: Arc’teryx, Salomon Softgoods, and Wilson Tennis 360.”
2026 Outlook Upgraded Following Strong Quarter
Based on the robust Q2 performance, Amer Sports increased its full-year 2026 projections. The company now forecasts adjusted EPS in the range of $1.27 to $1.30, with the $1.29 midpoint exceeding the $1.26 analyst consensus.
The full-year revenue growth forecast was upgraded to approximately 24%. Adjusted operating margin guidance was also raised to a range spanning 14.2% to 14.5%.
Looking ahead to Q3, management provided guidance for adjusted EPS between $0.31 and $0.33, with revenue growth projected at 18% to 20%.
Management continues to highlight Arc’teryx, Salomon Softgoods, and Wilson Tennis 360 as the three strategic growth engines expected to drive performance throughout the remainder of the fiscal year.
