Shares of Webull (BULL) skyrocketed 13.8% during Wednesday’s pre-market session following the company’s announcement of exceptional quarterly performance. The digital trading platform’s stock climbed to $9.83 before markets opened, marking a significant increase from Tuesday’s closing price of $8.64.
Webull Corporation Class A Ordinary Shares, BULL
The company’s second quarter 2026 financial results significantly exceeded analyst projections. Revenue totaled $198.8 million, comfortably surpassing the Street’s $165.7 million estimate. Meanwhile, adjusted earnings per share landed at $0.05, beating the anticipated $0.04 figure.
The most impressive performance came from trading-related revenue, which exploded 66% on a year-over-year basis to reach $147.7 million. Simultaneously, adjusted operating profit skyrocketed 169% to an all-time high of $62.6 million.
This impressive operating leverage demonstrates fiscal discipline. The company’s revenue expansion significantly outpaced expense growth, creating substantial profit margin expansion.
A significant catalyst driving this exceptional performance was a major regulatory change. The Pattern Day Trader rule was officially eliminated on June 4, removing the previously mandated $25,000 minimum account balance that had restricted many individual investors from actively trading. This regulatory shift unleashed a flood of new trading activity across Webull’s ecosystem.
The financial metrics vividly illustrate this impact. Equity notional volume totaled $279 billion throughout the quarter. Options contract volume reached an impressive 213 million.
Total customer assets expanded 79% year-over-year, climbing to $28.5 billion. The platform’s registered user base increased 13% to 28.2 million accounts.
Artificial Intelligence Platform Shows Promise
Webull’s proprietary AI technology, branded as Vega, attracted 480,000 active users throughout the quarter. Management has emphasized that AI-powered features represent a cornerstone of the company’s future expansion strategy.
Northland Securities analyst Michael Grondahl maintained his Buy recommendation while increasing his price target from $14 to $15. His rationale included the impressive second quarter performance, proven operating leverage, and promising AI development efforts.
Despite Wednesday’s premarket surge, BULL continues trading significantly below its 52-week peak of $16.04.
Cryptocurrency Surge Provided Additional Boost
Prior to the earnings announcement, BULL shares had already gained momentum on Tuesday. Bitcoin and alternative cryptocurrencies rallied as declining Treasury yields encouraged investors toward higher-risk investments.
President Trump’s scheduled White House meeting with cryptocurrency industry leaders and expectations surrounding clearer regulatory guidance for digital assets in the United States further enhanced market sentiment.
This development carries significance for Webull since the platform facilitates cryptocurrency trading. Sharp increases in crypto valuations typically attract more retail investors to the platform, driving higher transaction volumes and user engagement. BULL stock had risen 6.81% to $8.47 during regular Wednesday trading hours ahead of the earnings release.
Wall Street consensus entering the report had anticipated adjusted EPS of $0.03 on revenue of $181.26 million. Webull exceeded both projections decisively.
During the first quarter of 2026, Webull’s revenue increased 36% year-over-year to $159.9 million, although total operating expenses surged 68% as the company expanded marketing initiatives and absorbed elevated transaction costs associated with increasing platform volumes.
The second quarter results demonstrate that revenue growth has now overtaken cost expansion, with adjusted operating profit achieving a quarterly record.
