Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse participated in a White House meeting with President Donald Trump and prominent blockchain executives to address digital asset policy frameworks. The gathering brought renewed attention to the CLARITY Act while XRP maintained momentum above the $1 threshold. These discussions occurred amid fresh congressional and regulatory initiatives aimed at establishing comprehensive guidelines for digital asset markets and oversight.
Presidential Summit Highlights Crypto Policy Priorities
Garlinghouse attended the meeting with SEC Chair Paul Atkins, CFTC Chair Michael Selig, and Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong. Participants addressed regulatory clarity, fostering American innovation, and advancing the CLARITY Act through Congress.
Garlinghouse emphasized that approximately 67 million Americans currently own cryptocurrency, representing roughly one in four U.S. residents. He stressed that blockchain technology has evolved into a mainstream financial sector serving millions of American investors.
President Calls for Congressional Action on Digital Asset Legislation
Trump called on lawmakers to advance what he described as an equitable version of the CLARITY Act. The proposed legislation seeks to establish comprehensive federal standards for digital assets and distribute regulatory authority among key government agencies.
Armstrong identified September 15 as the crucial date for a procedural vote. He indicated that the White House, SEC, and CFTC have reached consensus on advancing cryptocurrency regulation, though the legislation must still navigate the Senate process before reaching the President’s desk.
Securities Regulator Endorses Regulatory Framework Enhancement
Atkins expressed the SEC’s commitment to maintaining America’s position as a leading hub for blockchain innovation. He referenced proposed digital asset guidelines intended to provide companies with transparent procedures when conducting token offerings.
The SEC chair also expressed support for delivering the CLARITY Act to Trump for signature. Ripple has pursued regulatory clarity in the United States for years while expanding its payment infrastructure and blockchain services throughout global markets.
XRP Advances as Exchange-Traded Fund Flows Strengthen
XRP price surged approximately 10% to reach $1.09 after clearing the $1.08 threshold. Analysts identify $1.14 as the next technical barrier, while $1.08 may provide support if the current rally encounters resistance.
