Stock prices for neocloud operators CoreWeave, Nebius, and IREN advanced in Monday morning pre-market activity on July 27. The upward movement followed a Wall Street Journal report detailing Nvidia’s discussions to supply a $250 billion financial guarantee supporting OpenAI’s data center initiative.

These three equities had experienced declines during Friday’s session. Monday’s recovery reflected growing investor confidence about the implications of Nvidia’s strategic commitment to the AI infrastructure landscape.
Details of Nvidia’s Financing Strategy
The Wall Street Journal revealed that Nvidia’s proposed financial backstop aims to enable OpenAI to obtain more favorable lending conditions for capacity leasing at one of history’s most ambitious AI data center developments.
The facility consists of a 10-gigawatt complex located in Pike County in Southern Ohio. A SoftBank Group energy affiliate is spearheading the development. Total investment requirements are projected to surpass $500 billion when chip procurement is included.
Nvidia’s $250 billion commitment would support the data center lease agreements and associated debt financing structures. Notably, this guarantee excludes Nvidia’s chip expenses for the facility. Reports indicate the semiconductor manufacturer is separately negotiating financing arrangements for OpenAI’s chip acquisitions valued at up to $350 billion.
The initial construction phase is scheduled for completion by 2028, delivering approximately 800 megawatts of capacity. Power infrastructure financing connects to a recently finalized U.S.-Japan trade agreement.
Implications for Neocloud Market Participants
For OpenAI, this arrangement represents an initial transition toward infrastructure ownership instead of continued reliance on Microsoft, Amazon, and Oracle facilities.
Neocloud operators interpret Nvidia’s commitment as validation of the AI data center sector’s prospects. GPU cloud specialists including CoreWeave, Nebius, and IREN depend on credit facilities and syndicated financing arrangements to support expansion initiatives. A prominent financing guarantee of this magnitude could enhance lender appetite for sector exposure.
CoreWeave maintains an established commercial relationship with OpenAI valued at approximately $22.4 billion in contracted commitments. OpenAI’s sub-investment-grade credit profile creates elevated borrowing costs. Nvidia’s guarantee structure could alleviate this constraint.
Nvidia has established direct ownership positions across all three organizations. The company maintains a 9.3% equity interest in Nebius, owns 47.2 million CoreWeave shares, and is evaluating a potential $2.1 billion investment in IREN. Nvidia recently executed a $3.4 billion AI cloud services agreement with IREN as well.
Bloomberg Intelligence analyst Anurag Rana noted the arrangement indicates Nvidia’s willingness to underwrite substantial AI infrastructure developments and suggests demand concerns may lack foundation.
Wall Street maintains a Moderate Buy consensus across all three securities. IREN demonstrates the strongest upside opportunity at roughly 103%, reflecting an average analyst price target of $75.18.
