Shares of Marvell Technology (MRVL) advanced following the semiconductor company’s disclosure of a significant custom chip partnership with Alphabet’s Google division. MRVL shares gained approximately 3%, reaching the $235.40 level.

The partnership focuses on Marvell’s data center AI infrastructure, encompassing custom accelerators, storage solutions, network management, memory oversight, and near-memory computational capabilities.
This collaboration brings Google’s Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) into Marvell’s expanding portfolio of custom AI semiconductor clients, which already features Amazon Web Services Trainium and Microsoft Maia chips.
Under the partnership terms, Google obtained warrants enabling acquisition of up to 58.97 million MRVL shares with an exercise price of $206.58 per share. At full execution, this equity position would represent approximately $12.18 billion in value.
Complete vesting of these warrants depends on Google achieving $120 billion in aggregate purchases from Marvell during roughly seven years, extending through fiscal 2033.
Oppenheimer maintained its Outperform designation while keeping the $250 price objective on MRVL intact. The investment firm observed that Broadcom continues as Google’s principal TPU collaborator, with Marvell and MediaTek presumably developing next-generation solutions.
Wall Street Response
Tore Svanberg, a five-star analyst at Stifel, reaffirmed his Buy designation alongside the $350 price objective on MRVL, representing approximately 47.5% upside potential. He characterized the Google partnership as demonstrating “significant progress and expansion” for Marvell’s custom semiconductor operations.
Svanberg has been monitoring Marvell’s Custom division for indications of XPU Attach traction, which connects custom semiconductors to artificial intelligence infrastructure. He interprets the Google partnership as validation that advancement is occurring.
Sebastien Naji, an analyst at William Blair, likewise sustained his Buy recommendation. He anticipates the arrangement could broaden Marvell’s participation in Google’s AI TPU initiatives through fiscal 2033, contributing revenue across AI semiconductors, computational resources, and storage solutions.
Naji highlighted the warrant arrangement as evidence of substantial long-term revenue opportunity, providing Google additional motivation to expand its commercial relationship with Marvell.
UBS elevated its price objective to $310 while maintaining a Buy designation. Barclays reaffirmed its Overweight stance with a $275 target, projecting the partnership could contribute approximately $18.5 billion annually in additional revenue and $6.15 in earnings per share assuming complete warrant execution.
JPMorgan preserved its Overweight recommendation with a $240 price objective. Raymond James sustained a Strong Buy designation at a $235 target level.
