Dell Technologies (DELL) reached a record intraday peak of $567.75 during Friday’s session, ultimately settling with an 11.8% gain at approximately $566.62. This marked a significant jump from Thursday’s close of $506.62, with trading activity surging 71% beyond typical daily volumes.
The dramatic price movement followed RBC Capital Markets’ decision to begin tracking the stock with an Outperform designation alongside a $640 price objective. The firm highlighted Dell’s strategic positioning in enterprise artificial intelligence investments, computing infrastructure modernization, storage solutions growth, and personal computer refresh opportunities.
Meanwhile, Goldman Sachs elevated its price forecast from $510 to $570 while maintaining its Buy recommendation. Barclays increased its projection from $550 to $603 with an Overweight stance. Fox Advisors shifted its rating from Equal Weight to Overweight, establishing a $625 price objective.
The company’s most recent quarterly results, announced on September 1st, significantly exceeded Wall Street projections. Dell delivered earnings per share of $7.04 against analyst expectations of $4.91, while revenue totaled $46.97 billion, representing a 57.7% increase compared to the prior year period.
Artificial Intelligence Infrastructure Drives Performance
The technology giant disclosed AI server bookings of $60.9 billion, contributing to an overall order backlog approaching $95 billion. Revenue from AI-optimized servers doubled quarter-over-quarter to reach $16.4 billion. Management has established fiscal 2027 earnings guidance at $25.50 per share with third-quarter expectations of $6.50.
Additional market enthusiasm stemmed from Oracle’s announcement of a $95 billion capital investment initiative, which amplified positive sentiment surrounding AI infrastructure providers. Dell maintains a prominent role as a supplier of Nvidia-powered servers, capturing demand from both cloud hyperscalers and corporate enterprise clients.
The company’s market capitalization now stands at $367.23 billion, with a price-to-earnings multiple of 32.89 and a beta coefficient of 1.34. The 50-day moving average currently rests at $447.99.
Wealth Rankings Undergo Transformation
Friday’s stock appreciation boosted founder and CEO Michael Dell’s estimated personal fortune by more than 6% to $274 billion, narrowly edging past Amazon founder Jeff Bezos at $273 billion for third position on Forbes’ live billionaire tracker.
Dell and Bezos have alternated between the third and fourth positions multiple times this week. Dell temporarily surpassed Larry Page on Wednesday before relinquishing the spot. Page’s net worth registered at $279 billion as of Friday’s close. Tesla CEO Elon Musk maintains his commanding lead at number one with a net worth estimated at $916 billion.
However, some developments warrant caution. Multiple company insiders have recently divested shares, including Silver Lake-connected entities that reduced their holdings by more than 53% and 58% respectively. Collectively, insiders have sold 1.3 million shares valued at over $624 million during the past three months.
Additionally, Dell has announced plans for a $4 billion bond issuance intended to restructure existing debt obligations, which market participants will scrutinize for potential effects on financial leverage and operational cash flow. Persistent supply constraints affecting AI hardware components present ongoing challenges, as does the stock’s premium valuation following its substantial recent appreciation.
Wall Street’s aggregate rating currently reflects a Moderate Buy consensus, with a mean price target of $560.24 based on assessments from 36 covering analysts. The company distributes a quarterly dividend of $0.63 per share, equating to an annualized payment of $2.52 and yielding 0.4%.
