Shares of Atlassian experienced a dramatic surge of approximately 30% during Friday’s premarket hours following the software company’s disclosure of fiscal fourth-quarter financial results that exceeded analyst projections on every metric.
The collaboration software provider delivered adjusted earnings per share of $1.87, substantially outperforming the analyst consensus estimate of $1.50. Total revenue registered at $1.77 billion, reflecting a 28% year-over-year increase and surpassing Wall Street’s expectation of $1.66 billion.
The cloud business segment emerged as a particular bright spot, advancing 31% year-over-year to reach $1.21 billion. Meanwhile, Data Center revenue climbed to $461.9 million, also exceeding the analyst forecast of $414.6 million.
The quarter marked a milestone for large-scale enterprise agreements. Customers with annual contract values at the $3 million level increased by more than 50% compared to the same period last year, while those in the $5 million-plus category surged over 70%.
Annual recurring revenue from subscriptions totaled $6.61 billion, up 23% from the prior-year period. Remaining performance obligations jumped 44% to reach $4.82 billion.
The company’s adjusted operating margin improved significantly to 36% in the fourth quarter, compared to 24% during the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Chief Executive Mike Cannon-Brookes highlighted artificial intelligence as a crucial catalyst for expansion. He revealed that over 80% of Fortune 500 enterprises are now utilizing Rovo, the company’s AI-enhanced solution integrated with Jira and Confluence platforms.
Actions assisted by Rovo increased by more than 50% versus the year-earlier quarter. According to Cannon-Brookes, this productivity enhancement delivers “millions of hours saved every month” across the customer base.
Enterprise Customer Expansion and Major Contracts
During the quarter, the software maker secured its largest-ever enterprise agreement with a major global consumer technology corporation. The company chose not to disclose the specific customer identity.
Major enterprises including Adobe and Google Cloud expanded their adoption of Atlassian’s platform suite. Entertainment giant Warner Bros and financial software provider Xero were among notable clients that upgraded to the Teamwork Collection offering during the reporting period.
The company characterized Teamwork Collection as “a massive success in its inaugural year,” noting it exceeded internal projections and is successfully driving higher average revenue per customer.
The MCP server and Teamwork Graph CLI exceeded one million monthly active users throughout the fiscal year, more than doubling usage within just a single quarter.
Forward Outlook Exceeds Market Expectations
Looking ahead to Q1 fiscal 2027, Atlassian issued revenue guidance in the range of $1.705 billion to $1.715 billion. The midpoint of $1.71 billion exceeded the analyst consensus forecast of $1.67 billion.
For the complete fiscal year 2027, management anticipates total revenue growth of approximately 13% alongside cloud revenue expansion of roughly 25.5%.
Data Center revenue is projected to contract by approximately 17% for the full year, reflecting the ongoing customer transition toward cloud-based solutions.
Growth in subscription annual recurring revenue is forecast at approximately 18% for fiscal 2027.
Notwithstanding Friday’s dramatic rally, Atlassian shares had declined 32% year-to-date through Thursday’s market close and were down 35.6% over the trailing twelve-month period.
