Binance’s tokenized stock platform reached the $1 billion assets under management threshold just four months following its initial rollout. The exchange confirmed the October 15 achievement using Dune analytics, describing the growth pace as the quickest in the sector.
bStocks platform growth accelerates from initial offering
Binance introduced bStocks on June 11 with five tokenized U.S. equities and exchange-traded funds. The roster has since grown to encompass nearly 100 different securities. Trading activity exceeded $40 billion in total volume, producing a daily average surpassing $300 million.
The platform processed $6 billion in conversions between bStocks and traditional equity holdings, Binance confirmed. Every token maintains one-to-one backing via custodied securities. This conversion metric represents total historical activity rather than current holdings.
Through an October 5 X post, Binance informed qualified users about the ability to interchange stocks and tokens. Meanwhile, the platform plans to close its mining pool next month while broadening overseas access to American securities.
Trading extends well beyond traditional market sessions
During July, merely 38% of bStocks transactions happened within standard U.S. trading hours. Binance noted this contrasts sharply with 89.2% for traditional equity markets. Qualified participants can execute token trades during weekends and move holdings to compatible personal wallets.
Shunyet Jan, who leads exchange and trading operations at Binance, emphasized that sustained market participation extends beyond the initial launch phase. He noted customers actively trade bStocks, use them for collateral backing, and exchange them for conventional stock positions.
Other platforms are advancing tools for tokenized securities as well. Chainlink recently broadened capabilities linking financial networks. Binance data showed 11.2% of bStocks value entered decentralized finance protocols by early October 2026, outpacing similar offerings by 3.8 percentage points.
Leveraged borrowing grows alongside tokenization adoption
Borrowing against Binance tokenized stocks climbed to 46.2% of deposited collateral by September 10, rising sharply from 5.5% recorded at the conclusion of June. The platform opened collateral functionality to qualified retail participants in September, implementing account verification and risk management measures.
Users can pledge eligible bStocks to support margin and futures trading, accessing leverage up to five times their collateral value. Binance observed that 58.5% of initial participants also engaged in perpetual futures or traditional share trading by late July.
This development coincides with banks expanding tokenized deposits, including Wells Fargo’s initiatives. Binance further projected tokenized stock transfers surpassed $100 billion throughout the third quarter, compared with $6 billion during the initial quarter. While bStocks maintain backing through underlying securities, token holders do not acquire direct shareholder privileges.
