Major cryptocurrency-related stocks experienced significant upward momentum Wednesday following a high-profile gathering between digital asset industry leaders and President Donald Trump at the White House.
Strategy, recognized as among the largest institutional Bitcoin holders globally, saw its shares climb 12.7% to finish at $104.25. This marked the company’s strongest closing price since June 22 and represented its most substantial single-session increase since February 6, based on Dow Jones Market Data.
Coinbase Global experienced a 9.6% surge, closing at $160.20āthe highest closing value since July 30. During trading, shares reached an intraday peak of $165.74, representing a 13.3% increase. The cryptocurrency exchange platform secured the sixth-best performance position within the S&P 500 for the session.

Regulatory Progress Drives Market Enthusiasm
Market observers identified two primary catalysts behind the stock movements. The first involved capital rotation away from artificial intelligence equities, as traders locked in gains following a prolonged rally. The second centered on renewed legislative confidence surrounding the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act.
Clear Street analyst Owen Lau attributed the increases to “the reversal of the AI trade, and optimism from Senators Tim Scott and Cynthia Lummis, as well as from White House representative Patrick Witt.”
During remarks at the SALT conference in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Senate Banking Committee Chairman Tim Scott indicated the legislation possesses a “really good shot” at advancing through September.
“There’s no question about the fact that this will become law,” Scott declared.
Senators have designated September 15 for a procedural vote on the legislation. This timeline establishes a concrete deadline for resolving outstanding policy disputes.
Negotiators Work Through Final Details
Patrick Witt, executive director of the White House’s Council of Advisors for Digital Assets, indicated discussions are converging. “We’re down to kind of more of an A-B type of environment,” he noted. “That’s when you’re at the point where a grand bargain can be had.”
Unresolved matters encompass cryptocurrency rewards structures, decentralized finance regulations, and ethics requirements. Democratic senators have indicated they will oppose the bill without robust ethics provisions. The administration has yet to publicly address a compromise proposal submitted by Senators Ruben Gallego and Thom Tillis.
The Clarity Act holds significant implications for platforms like Coinbase and Bullish by establishing comprehensive federal standards for digital asset exchanges. Such regulatory frameworks would provide greater durability against potential policy reversals by subsequent administrations.
Strategy shares have advanced 11.7% during the current month despite maintaining a 31.4% decline year-to-date. Coinbase has gained 9.7% this month while posting a 29% year-to-date loss.
The September 15 procedural vote represents a critical juncture for determining whether the legislation commands sufficient Senate backing to proceed toward final passage.
