Key Highlights
- InTACT, an Israeli defense technology firm, has chosen Peraso’s 60 GHz millimeter-wave technology as the foundation for a military drone IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) system.
- The platform enables military personnel on the ground to differentiate between friendly and hostile drones using mutual authentication protocols.
- Peraso’s specialized beamforming transceivers provide directional, low-power communications designed to avoid detection and resist electronic jamming.
- The collaboration between Peraso and InTACT has spanned more than two years, concentrating on tactical unmanned aerial vehicle identification.
- Shares of PRSO jumped as much as 115% during Friday’s session and continued climbing over 33% in Monday’s pre-market hours.
Peraso Inc. (PRSO) experienced a remarkable trading day on Friday. The semiconductor company based in California watched its share price skyrocket by as much as 115% during intraday trading following news that its 60 GHz millimeter-wave technology platform has been integrated into a military-grade drone identification system.
The partnership centers on InTACT, a defense technology contractor operating out of Israel. InTACT has selected Peraso’s semiconductor technology as the core component of its IFF (Identification Friend or Foe) drone system — a critical tool enabling armed forces personnel to rapidly determine whether an unmanned aerial vehicle in their vicinity is friendly or enemy-operated.
The collaboration between these two firms has been ongoing for more than 24 months. Friday’s announcement represents a significant milestone in their relationship, signaling the technology’s progression toward real-world battlefield implementation.
Shares of PRSO surged more than 96% during Friday’s pre-market session before rallying to an intraday peak of 115%. By market close, the stock had settled with gains exceeding 86%. Monday’s pre-market action showed continued momentum with an additional 33% increase.
The Technology Behind the Surge
Peraso’s 60 GHz beamforming transceiver chips serve as the fundamental hardware component powering InTACT’s IFF platform. These semiconductors establish a short-range, highly directional wireless communication link between unmanned aerial vehicles and ground-based military units.
The directional characteristics of the signal are particularly significant. This design makes the communications channel substantially more difficult to detect or compromise in electronic warfare scenarios — precisely the environments where this identification system is intended to function.
The mutual authentication mechanism allows ground forces to verify in real-time whether a drone operating in their airspace is allied. In modern combat zones saturated with drone activity, this identification capability provides substantial tactical advantages.
CEO Ron Glibbery characterized the technology as “designed to provide a secure, directional communications channel ideally suited for these environments.”
Financial Trajectory Leading to the Announcement
Peraso has demonstrated improving financial metrics in the months preceding this partnership announcement. During Q3 of fiscal year 2025 (concluded in September 2025), the company reported revenue of $3.2 million, representing a 45% increase from the previous quarter.
This quarterly growth was primarily fueled by record-breaking sales of millimeter wave products — the exact technology category featured in this defense contract.
Despite the sequential quarterly improvement, total revenue for that period remained 16% below the year-ago comparison, declining from $3.84 million.
For a micro-cap semiconductor manufacturer, securing a design win in the defense sector carries substantial weight with investors. Commercial applications typically don’t generate the same level of market enthusiasm as military deployment contracts.
InTACT has not revealed the financial parameters of this arrangement. Neither contract valuations nor revenue forecasts were disclosed in the public announcement.
The company verified that its beamforming transceiver technology has reached production readiness and has been officially designated as the hardware platform for InTACT’s system. No specific timeline for military deployment was communicated.
As of Monday’s pre-market trading, PRSO shares were climbing more than 33% beyond Friday’s closing price, which itself reflected 86% gains for that session.
