Goldman Sachs executed a substantial rebuild of its XRP ETF portfolio throughout the second quarter following a complete market departure. This represents a dramatic reversal from Q1 2026, when the institution had eliminated all holdings across multiple providers including Bitwise, Franklin Templeton, Grayscale, and 21Shares.
The most recent regulatory disclosure reveals that Goldman Sachs has established a commanding presence in spot XRP exchange-traded funds. The firm’s current holdings surpass Jane Street Group’s $16.64 million stake by a factor of more than five, establishing a substantial margin between the industry’s two largest institutional participants.
Jane Street’s position represents approximately 16 million XRP tokens following a quarterly increase of roughly $13.57 million. Millennium Management captured third place with approximately $16.2 million in XRP ETF allocations, according to Bloomberg Intelligence analysis of Q2 regulatory filings.
Intesa Sanpaolo disclosed approximately $14.42 million in holdings, while Marex UK Holdings maintained around $8.12 million. The regulatory documents demonstrate that multiple major financial institutions have established positions in spot XRP ETFs, with Goldman Sachs maintaining clear leadership status.

Ripple Executes Scheduled 1 Billion XRP Release
Ripple completed its monthly release of 1 billion XRP from escrow on September 1 through three separate transactions totaling 500 million, 400 million, and 100 million XRP. The distribution aligns with Ripple’s established monthly escrow schedule.
Approximately 31.28 billion XRP tokens would remain locked in Ripple’s escrow arrangements following this release.
