XRP market engagement intensified throughout August as trading volume achieved its most robust performance since February. August Trading Volume Hits February Peak Levels
CryptoQuant data showed spot XRP transaction volume expanding across multiple exchanges during August. Binance commanded the lead with $7.28 billion in executed trades, while Upbit followed with $4.68 billion and Bithumb Korea registered $2.59 billion.
Bybit facilitated $1.40 billion in transactions, Gate.io managed $1.33 billion, and KuCoin accounted for $1.23 billion. Bitget alongside Coinbase recorded $918.5 million and $915.4 million in volume, respectively.
Elevated transaction levels indicate expanded participation from both purchasing and selling sides within the marketplace. While this metric alone cannot determine directional price movements, increased XRP trading activity typically enhances overall market liquidity.
XRP Advances Alongside Cryptocurrency Market Recovery
XRP price traded around $1.45, with daily fluctuations spanning between $1.35 and $1.48. The digital asset registered gains exceeding 6% across 24 hours and 36% throughout the month, while weekly appreciation held near 1.4%.
This momentum aligned with a broader market resurgence. Bitcoin ascended above $80,000 after touching near $76,200, while Ether approached $2,500 and BNB advanced beyond $720.
XRP continued trading substantially beneath its July 2025 peak near $3.65. The token remained positioned 49% below its price point from twelve months prior.
CryptoQuant data revealed Binance’s 30-day rolling average XRP reserves decreasing from 3.1 billion during November 2025 to 2.6 billion. This measurement aligned with figures previously recorded around February 2024.
The 500 million XRP reduction reflects aggregate net movement throughout the timeframe, rather than a single confirmed withdrawal event. Declining exchange holdings can stem from client transfers, custody restructuring, or extended holding strategies.
CryptoQuant analyst Darkfost suggested the reserve pattern might indicate favorable long-term prospects. The assessment refrained from characterizing the decline as an immediate short-term price catalyst.
XRP ETF Products Introduce Additional Market Demand
Spot XRP ETFs potentially introduced an additional demand channel following their late 2025 debut. Investment vehicles from Bitwise, Canary Capital, Franklin Templeton, Grayscale, and 21Shares maintain positions in or track spot XRP.
Bitwise’s XRP ETF achieved $502.7 million in net assets by Aug. 27 and maintained nearly 364.8 million XRP. Its holdings expanded by 78 million XRP between June 30 and Aug. 27. ETF acquisitions cannot be correlated directly with Binance reserve reductions. Investment funds can acquire XRP through various channels including exchanges, custodians, market makers, or over-the-counter arrangements.
