- Ripple’s monthly escrow release of 1 billion XRP is set for September 1
- Technical analysis suggests possible retracement to $1.10ā$1.38 support zone

XRP delivered an impressive performance throughout the previous week, climbing approximately 46% across seven trading sessions and momentarily reaching $1.69. Opening August 19 at $1.0014, the digital asset peaked at nearly 48% above that starting point.
The upward movement gained traction following a White House gathering where President Trump met with cryptocurrency sector executives, including Brad Garlinghouse, Ripple’s chief executive. During this period, Trump urged lawmakers to approve the CLARITY Act, legislation designed to split digital asset regulation between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
During the upswing, XRP’s valuation exceeded $91 billion, temporarily placing it among the four largest cryptocurrencies by total market capitalization.
However, the upward trajectory has since lost steam. The token has declined approximately 12% from its weekly peak. The latest daily settlement came in at $1.4554, representing the second consecutive session in negative territory.
Technical Analyst Identifies Critical Price Zones
A cryptocurrency market analyst characterized the current price action as a “pullback after a strong rally and rejection from $1.66 resistance.” According to this analyst, a decline toward the $1.10ā$1.38 zone would maintain the broader bullish structure.
Should that support region prove resilient, the analyst projects potential upside targets at $1.66, $1.93, and $2.25 during the subsequent advance.
Large holder movements have also captured market attention. Data from CryptoQuant reveals that major investors withdrew 231 million XRP from Binanceārepresenting the most substantial outflow observed in half a year. Whale Insider shared on X: “JUST IN: Whales pulled 231 million $XRP from Binance, the largest outflow in six months.” Significant exchange withdrawals typically suggest holders are transferring assets to long-term storage rather than positioning for immediate sales.

Monthly Token Release Draws Attention
Market participants are closely monitoring September 1, the scheduled date for Ripple’s routine escrow release of 1 billion XRP. The company’s established pattern involves returning a substantial percentage of each monthly unlock back into escrow instead of circulating it.

The Senate has scheduled a procedural vote on the CLARITY Act for September 15, following the conclusion of the congressional recess. Should the legislation progress, Ripple has signaled it might distribute additional XRP from escrow to facilitate stablecoin operations and foreign currency trading pairs.
Recently, the SEC approved a registration filing for the Cryptex Digital Market Cap ETF, which purportedly features a 4.88% XRP allocation, with details allegedly supplied by Ripple.
Liquidation clusters are positioned around $1.55 and within the $1.42 to $1.45 corridor, price points that traders are monitoring attentively as the unlock date approaches.
