Generac Holdings emerged as Thursday’s most dramatic stock mover, with shares rocketing 33% higher following disclosure of a comprehensive supply partnership with Amazon focused on backup-power generation systems for data center facilities.
The partnership encompasses $2.4 billion worth of generator deliveries scheduled for 2027 and 2028. According to securities filings, aggregate payments to Generac and associated global entities may ultimately total $8 billion.
Under the arrangement’s terms, Generac granted an Amazon affiliate warrants for acquiring up to 1.69 million shares with an exercise price of approximately $200.93 per share.
Neocloud Sector Gains Momentum
Nebius Group shares surged 8% during premarket hours following the neocloud provider’s announcement of price increases. The development generated positive momentum for industry counterparts Iren and CoreWeave.
Vicor Corporation advanced 10% after revealing a licensing arrangement with an undisclosed OEM partner for its Vertical Power Delivery platform designed for advanced AI processors. The companies did not reveal financial details of the transaction.
Among declining stocks, Fluence Energy tumbled 16% after dramatically cutting its annual revenue projection to $2.4 billion from the previous forecast range of $2.9 billion to $3.1 billion. The energy storage company now anticipates an adjusted EBITDA loss of approximately $200 million for the fiscal year, substantially worse than its earlier projection of a $10 million loss.
Fluence attributed the downgrades to supply chain complications and challenges scaling contract manufacturing facilities in Houston. Company representatives emphasized that market demand continues at elevated levels and that measures have been implemented to accelerate daily production capacity.
Viant Technology slid 10% following announcement of a public offering involving 8.5 million Class A shares by an existing shareholder. The advertising technology company indicated it would not receive any funds from the base offering.
