Smarter Web Company has acquired 11.89 Bitcoin, expanding its corporate treasury to a total of 2,712 BTC. The August 3 transaction marks the firm’s return to Bitcoin accumulation several weeks after reducing its position to fulfill financing obligations. This purchase aligns with the company’s long-term Bitcoin treasury strategy outlined in its 10 Year Plan.
Recent Acquisition Increases Treasury Beyond July Levels
According to company disclosures, the firm spent an average of £47,052, equivalent to approximately $63,328, per Bitcoin in this recent acquisition. As a result, the treasury expanded from precisely 2,700 BTC to 2,712 BTC. BitcoinTreasuries.NET currently positions the firm as the 28th largest corporate Bitcoin holder globally.
This purchase comes after the company’s July decision to settle its $11.7 million Smarter Convert financing arrangement ahead of schedule. To fulfill this obligation, the firm liquidated 177.8909127 BTC at an average price of $65,762 per coin. While this sale temporarily decreased Bitcoin holdings, it successfully eliminated debt prior to the instrument’s scheduled maturity date.
Retiring the convertible instrument also eliminated 7,718,551 potentially dilutive ordinary shares from the company’s fully diluted share calculation. Investment management firm TOBAM and associated entities facilitated the early settlement request. Despite this transaction, company leadership maintained its broader Bitcoin accumulation strategy without modification.
Average Acquisition Cost Exceeds Current Market Valuation
The firm’s net average purchase price for Bitcoin currently sits at £82,886, translating to roughly $111,548 per coin. At the time of the latest transaction, Bitcoin was trading around $63,000. This indicates the treasury’s average cost basis significantly exceeds current market valuations.
Total gross Bitcoin acquisitions have reached £233.5 million, while net purchases amount to £224.8 million after accounting for historical sales. This variance reflects disposals such as July’s convertible repayment transaction. The recent purchase demonstrates the company has resumed its accumulation pattern following that strategic reduction.
For the second quarter of 2026, the company disclosed a negative 4.80% Bitcoin yield. This metric measures Bitcoin holdings relative to the fully diluted share count. The negative result indicates decreased Bitcoin exposure on a per-share basis throughout the quarter.
Credit Facility Enables Ongoing Bitcoin Accumulation
The firm has utilized £18.5 million from a Coinbase credit line that carries a variable 6% annual interest rate. This borrowing constitutes approximately 17% leverage relative to its Bitcoin position. Both Bitcoin price fluctuations and financing expenses have direct implications for the treasury’s overall performance.
Additionally on August 3, the company secured £1.016 million through combined share placements and warrant exercises. During this financing round, warrant holders exercised 2.875 million warrants. These transactions increased the company’s total issued share count to 374.84 million.
Smarter Web Company initiated systematic Bitcoin purchases in 2025 as part of its corporate treasury strategy. The firm held 2,470 BTC in September following a 30 BTC purchase and custody expansion with Coinbase Institutional. By October, an additional 100 BTC acquisition elevated holdings to 2,650 BTC under the same strategic framework.
