Robinhood is introducing cryptocurrency trading capabilities to British customers this week, providing entry to over 50 digital currencies via Bitstamp, the platform acquired during 2025.
This expansion is incorporated into Robinhood’s comprehensive investment application, which integrates digital asset trading with stocks and shares ISAs, traditional equities, options contracts and futures. This move establishes Robinhood as a competitive alternative to long-standing UK brokerage services.
HOOD shares climbed 0.77% to exceed $94 during Monday’s premarket hours. The equity finished Friday’s session at $93.29, representing a 2.84% daily increase.
The shares have appreciated roughly 8% following Robinhood’s second-quarter earnings announcement, which surpassed analyst projections. Cryptocurrency transaction revenue totaled $100 million during the reporting period.
Robinhood implements a zero-commission model for British customers, eliminating trading fees, account maintenance charges and custody expenses. A 0.1% foreign exchange conversion fee applies, potentially increasing to 0.3% for specific weekend transactions.
Important to recognize: cryptocurrency positions held via Bitstamp UK lack protection from the Financial Services Compensation Scheme or oversight from the Financial Ombudsman Service.
The British expansion operates under Robinhood’s cryptocurrency authorization from the Financial Conduct Authority, enabling lawful operations and compliance with UK anti-money laundering regulations.
Artificial Intelligence-Driven Market Intelligence
Concurrent with the trading debut, Robinhood launched “Cortex Digests for Crypto,” an AI-powered feature integrated within the application. The system aggregates current news, market metrics, technical analysis indicators and proprietary Robinhood research.
This functionality provides straightforward explanations regarding factors influencing price fluctuations for specific digital assets throughout each trading day. The feature aims to equip individual investors with rapid insights without requiring searches across numerous information sources.
“Our new product provides a transparent, low-cost alternative to many incumbent UK platforms, which often rely on opaque pricing structures and apply wide spreads that can erode customers’ returns,” Robinhood said.
Broadening Digital Asset Infrastructure
The debut additionally extends Robinhood Chain access to British developers. This layer 2 blockchain architecture, constructed on the Arbitrum network, expands the company’s cryptocurrency framework throughout the UK marketplace.
Initial supported digital currencies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP and Hyperliquid. The complete catalog encompasses over 50 cryptocurrencies altogether.
Jordan Sinclair, President of Robinhood UK, stated the organization is “taking another major step toward becoming the all-in-one investment platform for the UK.”
Bernstein analysts upheld their $160 valuation objective for HOOD shares. The research firm identified Robinhood Chain, tokenized securities, Bitstamp integration and Robinhood Earn as catalysts for expansion.
The UK cryptocurrency deployment commences this week for qualified account holders.
