Ripple’s XRP is hovering around $1.009 on Friday, defending the $1.00 support zone following its lowest daily settlement since November 2024. The digital asset has experienced a steep decline of approximately 69% from its January 2025 zenith of roughly $3.30.

While the price action remains bearish, significant accumulation by major holders continues. Blockchain analyst Ali Martinez highlighted that whale addresses acquired over 72 million XRP tokens during a single 24-hour period. Martinez emphasized this buying activity, questioning whether these large stakeholders are positioning themselves for an upcoming price recovery.
This accumulation pattern extends beyond a single day. According to Santiment analytics, addresses containing a minimum of 1 million XRP expanded by 32 throughout the previous three-month period, elevating the total count to approximately 2,033. These substantial wallets accumulated over 380 million XRP during the seven days ending August 9, driving their aggregate holdings beyond 8 billion XRP, valued at roughly $8.2 billion based on current market prices.
Institutional Demand Remains Consistent
Investment fund interest continues showing resilience. According to SoSoValue tracking data, XRP spot exchange-traded funds recorded $2.25 million in net inflows through Thursday of this week. Should Friday conclude with additional positive flows, this would represent XRP’s fifth straight week of net ETF accumulation.

Approximately 81% of XRP tokens withdrawn from Binance were transferred to private wallet addresses, indicating that certain holders are relocating their assets off centralized platforms for extended holding periods.
Blockchain engagement has also shown improvement. Average daily active wallet addresses climbed to around 35,700 throughout August, compared to 26,400 during July. August 11 recorded the highest activity level since June 5. Daily new address generation stayed relatively constant at approximately 2,260, indicating the uptick stems from existing participants rather than fresh market entrants.
Critical Support and Resistance Zones
XRP’s realized price currently stands at approximately $0.75, trading below the present market valuation of $1.01. This indicates the token hasn’t yet reached the significantly undervalued territory observed during previous market cycle bottoms.
From a technical perspective, XRP trades beneath its 50-day exponential moving average positioned at $1.087, the 100-day EMA at $1.169, and the 200-day EMA at $1.362. The Relative Strength Index registers at 36, below the neutral 50 threshold, while the MACD indicator continues displaying negative momentum.
Digital asset analyst Diana pinpoints $0.87 as the subsequent critical support floor, with $0.77–$0.80 representing a broader decision area. On the resistance side, $1.06 presents an immediate obstacle, with approximately 3 billion XRP tokens positioned near their cost basis at that price point.
Should current support levels prove durable, Diana’s bullish price projections span from $1.46 to $3.56–$3.66, approaching the token’s prior all-time peak.
