TLDR
- A single treasury operation added 30 million RLUSD tokens to Ripple’s stablecoin ecosystem in recent activity.
- The stablecoin’s total market value has reached approximately $2.53 billion, reflecting expansion of the dollar-pegged asset.
- Between Sept. 21 and Sept. 22, multiple treasury operations brought 59.5 million RLUSD into the system.
- Token destruction remains an active process, with 29.85 million RLUSD burned on Sept. 22 alone, demonstrating that supply adjusts based on redemptions.
- This recent issuance follows significant September treasury operations, including a 143.1 million RLUSD mint on the first day of the month.
Ripple’s treasury operations processed a 30 million Ripple USD issuance through a single transaction, marking another chapter in ongoing RLUSD activity. Current data from CoinGecko places the stablecoin’s market valuation at approximately $2.53 billion as of Oct. 7.
Treasury Operations Maintain Consistent RLUSD Issuance
September witnessed multiple significant treasury movements for the stablecoin. The treasury processed a 20 million RLUSD mint on Sept. 21, followed by an additional 20.5 million token issuance during the same day. Sept. 22 saw another 19 million RLUSD enter the system. Combined, these operations totaled 59.5 million RLUSD across the two-day period.
Token issuance represents only part of the supply equation. Redemption requests from customers trigger token burns when fiat currency gets returned. Meanwhile, XRP Ledger Smart Escrow testing progressed toward deployment this week. Treasury mechanics for fiat-backed stablecoins require constant supply adjustment. Customer deposits trigger new token creation, whereas redemptions trigger token destruction.
Sept. 22 recorded two burn transactions: 14.9 million RLUSD followed by 14.95 million RLUSD. Together, these operations eliminated 29.85 million tokens during that single day. Examining mint transactions alone provides an incomplete picture of actual circulating supply changes. This reality becomes crucial when analyzing daily treasury movements, given that creation and destruction operations frequently occur within hours of each other.
Customer Deposits and Withdrawals Drive Treasury Movements
According to Ripple’s official documentation, institutional clients receive RLUSD following fiat deposits. The company issues corresponding tokens, while customer redemptions route RLUSD back to the treasury for permanent destruction.
September’s earlier activity included substantial minting operations as well. A 10 million RLUSD mint occurred on Sept. 11, contributing to total XRP Ledger issuance of roughly 21.9 million. Ripple participated in OKX’s recent funding round during the same week as both entities expanded their fintech presence.
The month’s opening produced particularly high issuance volume. XRP Ledger records show approximately 143.1 million RLUSD minted on Sept. 1, representing one of September’s peak issuance periods. Ripple executed its scheduled 1 billion XRP escrow release on October 1 following its standard monthly protocol.
The recent 30 million RLUSD transaction extends a pattern of regular issuance and redemption operations throughout September. RLUSD minting continues as an integral component of Ripple’s treasury management as customer transactions flow through the stablecoin infrastructure.
