Ripple Payments Europe SA, the European payments arm of Ripple, has been added to the MiCA register by the European Securities and Markets Authority. The approval allows the firm to offer crypto asset services across 29 EU countries under the bloc’s digital asset rulebook.
The latest update added Ripple Payments alongside other approved crypto asset service providers. After the update, the total number of approved CASPs reached 294, although new license activity has slowed since MiCA’s transitional period ended on July 1.
The new additions include Portugal-based Bison Bank, Croatia’s state-owned Hrvatska postanska banka, and Kaiser Partner Privatbank. Their inclusion points to wider participation from banks and traditional financial firms under the EU’s crypto framework.
BitPay also recently secured a MiCA license from the Netherlands’ financial regulator. The approval supports the company’s plan to expand crypto and stablecoin payment services across the European Union.
SBI Expands Coinhako Investment
Ripple ally SBI has also expanded its digital asset footprint through an investment in Coinhako. The investment was made through SBI Ventures Asset Pte. Ltd. and included both a capital injection and share purchases from existing investors.
Coinhako is one of Singapore’s early crypto platforms and operates through Hako Technology Pte. Ltd. The firm holds a Major Payment Institution license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore and serves users across the region.
SBI said Singapore will remain an important base for its digital asset strategy. The company is increasing its Asia-Pacific operations while working with Startale on next-generation on-chain finance.
The deal is expected to connect Coinhako’s customer base and regional network with SBI’s broader financial services reach. SBI also plans to explore tokenization, stablecoins, cross-border trading, and on-chain finance between Japan and Southeast Asia.
XRPL Adds 2,500 Accounts Daily
The XRP Ledger is adding about 2,500 new accounts per day, according to market watcher Krippenreiter. The growth points to steady network use as more individuals, developers, and automated systems open accounts.
Each activated XRP Ledger account must hold the current 1 XRP base reserve. That reserve cannot be spent while the account remains active, although users can recover part of it by deleting the account.
As more accounts are created, more XRP moves into reserve balances. Each account locks only a small amount, but the total grows as user activity increases.
Krippenreiter said the current pace could help the network move toward “one billion accounts” over the long term. The milestone remains distant, but daily account growth gives market watchers another way to track XRP Ledger adoption.
