New partnerships bring Ripple’s USD-backed stablecoin RLUSD to Türkiye through BiLira, Bitexen and Bitlo. Ripple said the launch gives Turkish institutions local access to its enterprise-grade digital dollar. The company announced the move in Istanbul on June 2, 2026.
RLUSD is backed by the US dollar and built for regulated financial use. Ripple said the stablecoin reached $1.7 billion in market capitalization after its late 2024 launch.
Türkiye remains a major crypto market in the MENA region. Ripple cited Chainalysis data showing nearly $200 billion in annual crypto transaction volume.
The company said Türkiye outpaced regional peers by almost four times. It also pointed to the 2024 licensing framework from the Capital Markets Board.
Jack McDonald, Ripple’s SVP of Stablecoins, said RLUSD supports payments, tokenization and collateral management. He said Türkiye is a milestone in Ripple’s global expansion.
Local Partners Support the Launch
BiLira, Bitexen and Bitlo will make RLUSD available to institutions in Türkiye. The partners bring local market access, exchange services and digital asset operations.
Sinan Koç, co-founder of BiLira, said the partnership is based on regulatory integrity. He said RLUSD can help blockchain adoption in Türkiye.
Bitexen said RLUSD support is part of a wider rollout across Bitexen Global. Alphan Göğüş said the platform connects local markets with global liquidity.
Bitlo CEO Mustafa Alpay said users seek secure digital tools for wealth management. He said RLUSD offers a regulated digital dollar for enterprise needs.
Ripple Adds ITU to Blockchain Research Program
Ripple also named Istanbul Technical University as a new partner in its University Blockchain Research Initiative. The partnership will be funded through RLUSD.
The program will support advanced research projects and graduate fellowships at ITU. Ripple also plans to set up an XRP Ledger validator on campus.
The company said the validator will connect academic work with decentralized infrastructure. It said the project will support Turkish researchers and students in blockchain studies.
RLUSD is also available through Binance, Bitso, Bitstamp, Bybit, Gemini, Kraken, LMAX and OKX. Ripple said these listings support wider access to RLUSD globally.
