Pi Network verified that its blockchain upgrade went live ahead of an inaugural Ecosystem Summit scheduled for mid-November. The PI token gained approximately 3% on October 29, approaching the $0.08 level after experiencing several weeks of downward pressure. The platform also rolled out updated desktop functionality and revealed ongoing exploration of stablecoin payment systems.
Mainnet Transition to Protocol 28 Verified
On October 22, Pi Network disclosed that its Mainnet successfully transitioned to Protocol 28 on October 16. Questions had circulated about whether the technical rollout occurred as scheduled, prompting the team to issue a verification statement.
The protocol enhancement delivers improved management of transaction data that arrives with delays. Additionally, developers gain the ability to batch multiple smart contract updates and implement security-conscious modifications to application-stored data. The platform has yet to announce a widespread launch of public smart-contract applications following this technical milestone.
Meanwhile, Curve Finance launched on Stellar on October 29, introducing trading infrastructure to another blockchain’s smart-contract environment. Pi Network has declined to specify when comparable public-facing services might debut.
Three-Day Developer Conference and Software Enhancements
Pi Network scheduled its inaugural virtual Ecosystem Summit for November 17 through 19. The conference agenda spans software releases, developer presentations, live demonstrations of active applications, and announcement of an upcoming hackathon competition.
According to the platform, its Core Team will engage directly with builders. The ecosystem presently hosts over 300 applications running on Mainnet. A separate Spanish-language Axis Robotics community channel referenced potential Pi integration, though technical specifications and deployment timelines remain unannounced.
The platform is investigating reward mechanisms and payment functionality using Open Standard’s OUSD stablecoin. In related developments, Visa reported $25 billion in annualized stablecoin settlement during the same week. Pi has withheld details regarding OUSD Mainnet deployment dates or integration architecture.
On October 22, Pi Desktop version 0.6.4 eliminated the requirement for manual router adjustments when users access SoloHost applications from remote locations. The release also incorporated security protocols designed to restrict individual application access to unrelated file systems and network resources.
Token Performance and Technical Indicators
PI reached approximately $0.079 on October 29, recording roughly 3% growth across a 24-hour window. The modest recovery followed a monthly decline, with the token previously trading above the $0.09 threshold in early October.
Crypto analyst Crypto With Gopal pointed to a potential double-bottom formation near the $0.074 level. Concurrently, Bitcoin exchange netflows turned positive while broader cryptocurrency markets monitored price action surrounding BTC’s $80,000 zone.
“A breakout above $0.082 could open the door toward $0.090-$0.092. Bulls need to reclaim resistance to confirm momentum,” Gopal wrote.
