Strategic Partnership Yields Advanced Power Board for AI Computing
Navitas Semiconductor revealed its cutting-edge 800 V-to-12 V power delivery solution tailored for NVIDIA’s MGX platform. Leveraging its proprietary GaNFast technology, the board addresses the rigorous power requirements of high-performance artificial intelligence workloads. This release builds upon Navitas’ commitment to delivering innovative semiconductor solutions for next-generation computing environments.
The newly designed board supplies 24 kilowatts of power while maintaining an impressive 97% efficiency rating during peak operation. Moreover, it packs exceptional power density surpassing 2,000 watts per cubic inch, accommodating the escalating demands of contemporary AI hardware. This compact yet powerful configuration enables data center operators to maximize performance without expanding physical footprints.
Navitas engineered the solution using NVIDIA’s standardized 400 mm by 60 mm form factor specification. This design philosophy enables closer proximity between power components and processing units, thereby minimizing energy loss during transmission. The architecture simultaneously addresses increasing computational requirements while maintaining manageable system dimensions.
Single-Stage Conversion Improves Data Center Power Efficiency
The board employs a direct 800 VDC to 12 VDC conversion methodology through a single-stage architecture. By eliminating the intermediate conversion phase typical of conventional systems, this approach substantially reduces inefficiency. Data center operators benefit from decreased energy waste, simplified hardware configurations, and streamlined system maintenance.
Integrated within the primary conversion framework are 16 NV6034 GaNFast transistors. These components utilize a stacked half-bridge design complemented by Navitas’ advanced dual-cooled packaging technology. This combination ensures optimal power delivery performance while effectively managing thermal challenges during intensive computational workloads.
Navitas had previously launched a 20 kW board capable of converting 800 VDC to 6 VDC. The current announcement represents a continuation of the company’s productive partnership with NVIDIA, offering system architects additional flexibility. Both products facilitate the broader industry shift toward elevated voltage power distribution frameworks optimized for artificial intelligence applications.
Company Reinforces Position in AI Power Semiconductor Market
This product launch aligns with Navitas’ comprehensive business transformation initiative centered on next-generation power semiconductor innovation. The strategy emphasizes replacing conventional silicon-based components with gallium nitride and silicon carbide alternatives. These advanced materials deliver superior efficiency characteristics and enhanced power density across challenging electrical engineering applications.
Chris Allexandre, President and CEO of Navitas, highlighted efficient power management as a critical enabler for AI infrastructure expansion. He stressed the importance of the company’s collaboration with NVIDIA in streamlining energy conversion pathways between electrical grids and GPU processors. The technology directly responds to the intensifying power demands of progressively sophisticated computing architectures.
Navitas intends to showcase this power board at the NVIDIA AI Factory MGX Wall exhibit during OCP Global Summit 2026. The demonstration will emphasize the company’s latest capabilities within NVIDIA’s rapidly expanding computational ecosystem. The after-hours stock rally provided a welcome contrast to the challenging regular trading session, reflecting investor optimism about the company’s AI infrastructure positioning.
