Key Highlights
Anchorpoint deploys HKDAP stablecoin for licensed institutional transaction services.
HKDAP facilitates international payment rails and tokenized asset transactions in Hong Kong.
HashKey participates in launch following successful HKDAP minting and redemption trial.
Ethereum mainnet validation prepared HKDAP for institutional deployment in August.
Hong Kong’s stablecoin regulatory framework enables HKDAP’s compliant market entry.
Anchorpoint Financial has initiated the primary deployment phase of its HKDAP stablecoin designed for institutional transaction processing and tokenized asset operations. The Hong Kong dollar-pegged digital token transitions into active circulation following extensive validation and regulatory clearance. This deployment provides licensed financial institutions access to compliant digital currency instruments within Hong Kong’s established stablecoin regulatory environment.
HKDAP Stablecoin Enters Institutional Distribution Phase
Anchorpoint is deploying HKDAP Stablecoin via authorized distribution partners rather than providing open retail availability. This approach enables qualified intermediaries to facilitate token creation, redemption, payment processing, and fiat currency exchange for institutional customers. HashKey Exchange has entered the distribution network and successfully executed an inaugural HKDAP creation and redemption operation.
The initial deployment phase concentrates on international payment infrastructure and settlement mechanisms for tokenized real-world assets through regulated financial networks. Licensed distributors will provide corporate entities and qualified market participants with HKDAP-to-fiat exchange capabilities. This configuration maintains distribution within Anchorpoint’s regulatory licensing parameters while enabling functional commercial applications.
Every HKDAP stablecoin token preserves a one-to-one peg with the Hong Kong dollar via qualified reserve holdings. Anchorpoint maintains these reserves according to specifications established by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. The reserve architecture supports token redemption while preserving direct linkage to Hong Kong dollar liquidity pools.
Ethereum Mainnet Validation Enabled HKDAP Deployment
Anchorpoint executed comprehensive HKDAP stablecoin transaction validation on Ethereum Mainnet throughout May 2026. The validation process encompassed fiat currency funding, reserve administration, token generation, blockchain-based transfers, and ultimate redemption. OSL Group and PantherTrade contributed to the live infrastructure validation exercise.
Standard Chartered’s banking platform processed the Hong Kong dollar capital provision before Anchorpoint generated the equivalent digital tokens. Test participants subsequently transferred HKDAP tokens across Ethereum’s network before executing redemption via the regulated banking channel. The validation demonstrated integration capabilities between traditional banking infrastructure and blockchain settlement mechanisms within unified transaction workflows.
The May validation followed preliminary preparation involving OSL Group and Futu-supported market participants. Anchorpoint utilized these validation exercises to ready HKDAP stablecoin for controlled institutional distribution channels. The August deployment represents the token’s advancement from technical validation into operational commercial utilization.
Hong Kong Establishes Regulated Stablecoin Infrastructure
Hong Kong’s Stablecoins Ordinance became operational on August 1, 2025, establishing a licensing mechanism for fiat-collateralized stablecoins. The regulatory structure addresses reserve asset composition, redemption procedures, governance protocols, risk management controls, and anti-money laundering compliance. Anchorpoint filed its licensing application coinciding with the regulation’s implementation date.
The HKMA issued Anchorpoint its stablecoin issuer authorization in April 2026 alongside HSBC within the new regulatory structure. Anchorpoint had previously advanced the HKDAP stablecoin initiative through the regulator’s stablecoin development sandbox. Standard Chartered, HKT, and Animoca Brands established Anchorpoint in February 2025 to pursue this objective.
Standard Chartered provides banking and financial infrastructure capabilities, while HKT delivers payment processing and telecommunications network expertise to the partnership. Animoca Brands supplies digital asset knowledge and blockchain-based financial application experience. The collaborative partners are establishing HKDAP stablecoin for payment systems, trade finance operations, and tokenized asset settlement applications.
