Google has introduced the Fitbit Air, a minimalist health monitoring device without a display, retailing for $99.99. This release represents the brand’s most compact wearable yet and is the first fresh Fitbit product since 2023.

The wearable features a compact, detachable pebble-shaped sensor that fits into interchangeable bands. By eliminating the screen, the design remains lightweight and unobtrusive for continuous, all-day wear.
The Fitbit Air provides round-the-clock heart rate monitoring, atrial fibrillation detection through heart rhythm analysis, SpO2 measurements, baseline heart rate tracking, heart rate variability metrics, sleep stage breakdown, and total sleep time recording.
The battery delivers up to seven days of use on a single charge. A quick five-minute charging session provides enough power for 24 hours of tracking.
Gemini-Powered AI Wellness Assistant
The tracker is designed to integrate with Google Health Coach, an artificial intelligence wellness companion built on the company’s Gemini AI infrastructure. This coaching platform delivers customized fitness routines, dynamically adjusted exercise suggestions, and post-workout recovery analysis.
Each Fitbit Air purchase includes a complimentary three-month access period to Google Health Premium, granting full functionality of the AI coaching capabilities. Continued access to these advanced features requires a paid membership after the trial period concludes.
Google Health Coach is presently in its public preview phase and will launch internationally on May 19.
The device maintains compatibility with both Android and iOS operating systems. Users can also synchronize it with a Pixel Watch, alternating between devices while maintaining complete data continuity.
NBA Star Collaboration Edition
Google collaborated with Golden State Warriors point guard Stephen Curry to create a limited collector’s version. The jointly designed Performance Loop band features rye brown and game-day orange color options.
Curry was photographed wearing the tracker in public appearances during the weeks preceding its official announcement.
This exclusive edition carries a $129.99 price point and hits retail locations across the United States on May 26. Pre-orders are currently open through the Google Store and Amazon.
The base model Fitbit Air is also open for pre-order at $99.99. Additional band accessories begin at $34.99 and include multiple design options, such as a moisture-resistant Active Band and a more refined Elevated Modern Band for everyday wear.
Google is targeting the Fitbit Air at consumers considering subscription-dependent trackers like Whoop, which mandates an annual membership ranging from $169 to $349 for any functionality. The Fitbit Air operates without mandatory subscriptions, although unlocking complete AI coaching capabilities necessitates a Google Health Premium membership.
Wall Street analysts maintain a Strong Buy consensus rating on Alphabet, Google’s parent company, with 28 Buy recommendations and five Hold ratings issued in the past three months. The consensus price target of $426.44 suggests approximately 8% potential upside from present trading levels.
