A new collaboration between Gemini and Apex Fintech Solutions aims to bring crypto prediction markets to a wider audience. The companies have entered into a non-binding letter of intent that would establish Gemini Titan as the exclusive regulated marketplace for crypto event contracts made available through Apex’s Futures Commission Merchant to its brokerage partner network.
With Apex serving as the backbone for trading and clearing operations across hundreds of financial institutions, the partnership could unlock access to tens of millions of retail investors for Gemini’s prediction market platform.
The proposed framework would require any brokerage distributing crypto event contracts via Apex’s FCM to route execution and clearing activities through Gemini. Additionally, both parties are considering expanding their collaboration to include other prediction market categories such as sports outcomes, economic indicators, and financial market events on a non-exclusive basis.
The agreement remains preliminary at this stage. Both organizations indicated they anticipate finalizing the terms within the next several weeks.
Gemini’s Journey into Prediction Markets
Gemini made its official entry into prediction markets in December 2025 after Gemini Titan secured a Designated Contract Market license from the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The company further strengthened its position in April 2026 when its Gemini Olympus subsidiary obtained a Derivatives Clearing Organization license from the CFTC. This second license enabled Gemini to manage derivatives clearing and settlement operations internally.
The platform has demonstrated solid early traction, processing more than 225 million event contracts with participation from over 27,000 individual traders since inception. However, established players like Polymarket and Kalshi continue to lead the prediction market sector with trading volumes reaching into the tens of billions monthly.
Co-founders Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss have consistently positioned prediction markets as a fundamental component of Gemini’s future vision. The twin entrepreneurs have publicly stated their belief that “prediction markets will be as big or bigger than today’s capital markets.”
Building on an Established Partnership
This isn’t the inaugural collaboration between the two companies. Apex Clearing already functions as the custody and clearing provider for Gemini’s zero-fee equity trading service, which became available to select US users in July 2025.
The latest proposal would broaden their existing relationship to encompass derivatives and prediction market offerings.
The prediction markets industry is encountering regulatory challenges at the state level across the United States. Recently, a judge in Washington state issued an order requiring Kalshi to cease offering certain event contracts within state borders, determining that federal commodities regulations do not supersede state gambling statutes.
Notwithstanding these regulatory headwinds, Gemini continues to demonstrate its commitment to growing its presence in the prediction markets sector through strategic alliances such as this arrangement with Apex.
