Cryptocurrency exchange Gemini activated native XRP Ledger (XRPL) deposit and withdrawal functionality for Singapore-based clients on August 25. Tyler Winklevoss, CEO of Gemini, revealed the enhancement as part of the platform’s ongoing expansion of XRP-related offerings throughout Asian markets.
This latest integration complements Gemini’s existing Singapore infrastructure, where clients already enjoy Singapore dollar account funding capabilities. The platform maintains support for trading and custody services spanning more than 70 different cryptocurrencies.
Singapore Users Gain Direct XRPL Network Access
The updated functionality enables customers to transfer XRP directly via its native ledger infrastructure. Singapore users can execute send and receive operations through the original XRP network architecture, eliminating dependencies on alternative blockchain systems. This enhancement grants local clients complete autonomy over token movements between their Gemini accounts and external XRPL wallet addresses.
Gemini’s XRP integration has grown substantially throughout the previous twelve months. July marked the introduction of XRP as eligible collateral for derivatives trading positions, joining Bitcoin, Ether, USDT, and Gemini dollar as approved margin assets.
The partnership between Gemini and Ripple produced an XRP-denominated version of the Gemini Credit Card. Qualified cardholders accumulate XRP through rewards programs, with opportunities to earn up to 4% cashback across designated spending categories.
According to Gemini’s data, customers who maintained XRP rewards for a minimum twelve-month period saw returns of 453%. The exchange subsequently introduced XRP perpetual futures contracts throughout European markets and incorporated XRPL-based deposit and withdrawal capabilities for Ripple’s RLUSD stablecoin during December 2025.
Evolution of Winklevoss Perspective on XRP
Winklevoss has increased his public advocacy for XRP despite earlier tensions with segments of its supporter base. During 2020, he engaged in critical exchanges with certain XRP advocates across social media platforms.
His public statements evolved in subsequent years. By March 2025, he clarified his neutral position regarding XRP, Solana, and Cardano, while maintaining that these digital assets fell outside his criteria for inclusion in a strategic crypto reserve.
This Singapore expansion arrives as XRP maintains trading levels around $1.50 following substantial weekly appreciation. The digital asset climbed more than 50% across the seven-day period, establishing a range approximately between $1.47 and $1.52.
Current market dynamics include approximately $40 million in capital flows toward spot ETF products alongside major wallet accumulation totaling roughly 642 million XRP tokens. Chart analysis reveals an extended accumulation period, expanding trading volumes, and emerging breakout formations as traders monitor whether XRP can sustain recent price levels throughout the current market advance.
