Major cryptocurrency exchanges experienced accelerated XRP withdrawals, with CryptoQuant tracking daily movements exceeding one million tokens that collectively surpassed 320 million XRP. Analyst Xaif Crypto noted a comparable withdrawal pattern emerged in August, preceding a price advance of more than 42% that carried the token from approximately $1.05 to $1.50.
Exchange Withdrawal Activity Intensifies
Binance dominated withdrawal volumes, with additional substantial activity reported across Coinbase, Upbit, Bybit and Bitget platforms. The transfers indicate significant token holders moved assets off trading platforms, though withdrawal activity alone does not signal definitive future trading intentions.
Amr Taha’s analysis showed Binance XRP holdings climbed from approximately 2.60 billion to 2.70 billion tokens during the September 13 to 27 timeframe. Holdings subsequently contracted to 2.647 billion by September 30, representing a reduction of roughly 57 million XRP within three days.
CryptoOnChain data revealed Binance XRP open interest contracted 15.3%, sliding from a six-month peak of $616.1 million down to $521.5 million by September 29. Long position liquidations maintained a daily average of $3.72 million throughout the September 24 to 29 period.
Funding rates declined from 0.010 to 0.005 across this window. Concurrently, XRP exchange-traded funds accumulated total inflows approaching $1.79 billion, introducing an additional market dynamic as participants curtailed leveraged exposure.
Token Maintains Position Around $1.50 Mark
XRP was changing hands near $1.50 at press time, registering approximately 1% growth over the preceding 24-hour period. The digital asset posted a two-week advance of roughly 16% while remaining more than 47% below year-earlier levels.
Market engagement continued to broaden. Recent statistics demonstrated XRP holder addresses advanced to 8.15 million, even as exchange inventory and futures positioning exhibited divergent trends.
XRP concluded September with a third consecutive monthly advance, adding approximately 8%. Spot XRP exchange-traded funds captured over $121 million throughout the month, pushing aggregate net inflows toward $1.8 billion.
The digital asset entered October following its most robust third quarter performance in four years. October’s historical track record shows inconsistency, with merely five of the preceding 13 Octobers delivering positive returns.
XRP climbed 16.5% during October 2023 before declining 16.7% in October 2024 and dropping nearly 12% the previous year.
