Avenir Group-backed UMX has launched an invitation-only public beta, bringing U.S. stocks, ETFs, options and crypto trading onto one platform as the company targets users seeking access to both markets.
UMX, or Unified Market Exchange, describes itself as a “crypto-friendly securities platform” and is incubated by Avenir Group, which was founded by Li Lin. The platform is opening registration for its wider release while beta users can access products based on their location and account eligibility.
UMX Combines U.S. Stocks and Crypto Trading
UMX currently offers securities trading and crypto trading through separate account functions on the same platform. On the securities side, the company says users hold actual U.S. securities positions rather than contracts for difference or products designed only to track stock prices.
The disclosed securities products include U.S. stocks, ETFs, U.S. stock options and fractional shares. UMX says users can trade during pre-market, regular, after-hours and overnight sessions, while the platform also supports app and API trading with 12 order types and eight options strategies.
The crypto side includes spot trading, margin trading, perpetual futures and delivery futures within a unified account structure. UMX says eligible assets can share a margin pool under its platform rules, while certain savings and yield products may also qualify as collateral at applicable ratios.
During the beta, UMX lists annualized yields of up to 2.5% for BTC and 5.5% for USDT products. The platform states that actual rates, limits and terms depend on the information available to eligible users.
Platform Adds Cross-Asset Transfers and Financing
UMX has also built functions that connect its securities and crypto accounts. Through its “Convert & Transfer” feature, users can convert stablecoins such as USDT into USD and move funds into securities accounts, subject to the platform’s requirements.
The “Borrow & Transfer” feature allows users to use crypto assets as collateral to obtain purchasing power for U.S. stocks, ETFs and options without selling those holdings. The availability and collateral value of such services depend on the platform rules and account eligibility.
UMX also offers a “Tokenize” function that can convert securities positions into corresponding stock tokens. The company says these tokens may be used as collateral in crypto trading accounts at applicable ratios and can later be converted back into the corresponding securities.
Users who complete the required fiat account verification can also open fiat accounts under their own names for deposits and withdrawals. The platform’s disclosed features therefore combine trading, transfers and collateral functions across its securities and crypto services.
UMX Opens Invitation-Only Public Beta
The public beta is currently available to users with invitation codes. UMX says registrations for the full launch are also open through its website and mobile application.
Access to individual products depends on jurisdiction, account status and applicable product requirements. The beta currently includes U.S. stocks, ETFs, U.S. stock options, crypto trading, cross-market transfers and stock-token conversion.
Avenir Group’s involvement places the platform within a wider investment group that has backed activities across traditional financial markets and digital assets. The company has also been described as an institutional holder of Bitcoin ETFs.
UMX’s launch comes as financial platforms continue adding services that connect traditional securities with digital assets. The platform’s current beta will allow eligible users to access its combined trading and transfer features before the wider release.
