Oracle (ORCL) stock closed at $141.40 in its latest session, up 4%. Pre-market trading on Monday showed $140.63.
The move put a spotlight on a board member’s recent buy. Director Stephen Rusckowski purchased 25,000 of Oracle’s stock on Sept. 29 for about $3.5 million.
He paid between $138.96 and $139.74. It was his first open-market purchase since joining the board nearly a year ago.
The buy went through a living trust. At Wednesday’s close of $143.56, the trust’s 25,390 holdings were worth $3.6 million.
Before this, his only additions were two restricted stock unit awards. The former Quest Diagnostics CEO first disclosed Oracle ownership on Nov. 18, 2025.
OpenAI Reports Keep Moving the Stock
A report on Sept. 29 put OpenAI’s annual recurring revenue near $70 billion. Oracle got a lift, since OpenAI is a key customer.
The stock pulled back Thursday after a later report showed roughly $50 billion. That compared with a $68 billion figure that had been circulating.
The gap reportedly comes from measurement and accounting, not weaker demand. Even so, it renewed concerns about Oracle’s reliance on a few big AI customers.
Reports also say Oracle is seeking large private financing to buy AI chips. Options activity leaned toward bearish call spreads.
Other insiders have been selling. They unloaded about $5.34 million of stock over 90 days, including CEO Michael Sicilia’s 22,562 at $151.59 under a Rule 10b5-1 plan.
Oracle beat estimates on Sept. 10 with EPS of $1.92 against $1.74. Revenue rose 29.6% to $19.34 billion.
Mizuho added Oracle to its top picks with a $320 target. Mar Vista, meanwhile, said it exited its position.
What the Chart Shows
The daily chart shows a stock that has steadied since its $114.50 low in late July, making higher lows along a rising trendline. The latest candle bounced off that line and a support zone near $135 to $140, with resistance at $150 to $155 and then $172 to $180.

The RSI reads 48.18, which is neutral. The MACD is flat near -1.74 and -1.77, so downside momentum is fading but there is no bullish crossover yet.
What to watch: A close below the trendline and $135 could open the door to $114.50, while holding above it keeps the higher-low structure intact.
Oracle declared a $0.50 quarterly dividend, payable Oct. 23. Analysts rate the stock Moderate Buy with a consensus target of $251.72.
