Shares of BTC Digital (BTCT) experienced a dramatic 54% surge during Monday’s premarket session following the company’s announcement that its Georgia-based cryptocurrency mining operation has completed construction.
The sharp upward movement in BTCT shares coincided with Bitcoin (BTC) gaining approximately 1%, trading around the $78,500 level Monday morning.
According to the company, the Georgia facility has reached what management characterizes as near “deployment readiness.” BTC Digital indicated that it anticipates installing mining equipment and launching digital asset mining activities within roughly two months, subject to power grid connection timelines.
The newly completed site runs on 10 megawatts of power capacity and features infrastructure designed to accommodate as much as 900,000 terahashes per second in theoretical computational output when operating at maximum capacity.
This capacity projection is based on BTC Digital’s intended deployment of advanced, energy-efficient mining hardware. However, the actual hash rate delivered will vary depending on multiple operational variables.
These variables encompass power activation schedules, specific mining rig models selected, energy consumption efficiency, Bitcoin network difficulty adjustments, cryptocurrency market valuations, and overall industry conditions.
Rather than activating the entire facility simultaneously, BTC Digital indicated it will implement a phased deployment approach “progressively based on market conditions.”
Two-Pronged Business Approach
Beyond cryptocurrency mining expansion, the company is actively pursuing what management describes as a “dual-engine” growth model. This strategy involves simultaneously scaling its digital currency mining capabilities while developing artificial intelligence computing infrastructure offerings throughout North America.
Company leadership emphasized that both operational segments leverage overlapping competencies in power sourcing, data center construction, and hardware implementation.
“We will continue to sustain the development of our cryptocurrency computing business so as to fully leverage the company’s existing advantages in power resources, infrastructure construction, and computing operations,” BTC Digital’s management said.
The newly completed Georgia site represents a significant component of BTC Digital’s broader initiative to strengthen its computational infrastructure presence throughout the United States.
Expanding Domestic Infrastructure Footprint
Following the facility’s launch, BTC Digital will command expanded self-operated infrastructure assets within U.S. borders.
The firm’s operations span multiple sectors including cryptocurrency mining activities, mining facility construction projects, data center management, and associated services.
Alongside its core mining operations, BTC Digital is actively building out AI-focused computing infrastructure and service offerings across North America, positioning this segment as a complementary revenue stream.
Company executives positioned the Georgia facility’s completion as an important milestone toward establishing what they characterized as a “more diversified and resilient business foundation for long-term growth.”
BTCT stock was trading up 54% premarket on Monday, August 24, 2026.
