Major Malaysian Contract Worth $400 Million Secured by Bitdeer
Bitdeer AI has successfully contracted roughly 50% of its A102 facility’s total capacity prior to the site becoming operational. The partnership involves a financially robust customer whose identity remains confidential. Operations under this arrangement are slated to commence in Q1 2027.
As a result, no revenue or operational expenses from this agreement will materialize throughout 2026. Once services launch, Bitdeer anticipates the five-year commitment will deliver around $400 million in total revenue. Early customer commitments enable the company to secure financial backing ahead of major infrastructure investments.
Bitdeer typically structures its cloud service agreements to ensure customer advance payments exceed 50% of corresponding capital expenditures. This strategic framework minimizes the upfront capital burden associated with contracted infrastructure developments. The company supplements this approach with operational cash generation and financing arrangements backed by contracted revenue.
Malaysian A102 Facility Advances 350MW Infrastructure Goal
The A102 data center contributes 9.5MW toward Bitdeer‘s comprehensive 350MW computing capacity objective. This Malaysian installation features liquid-cooling technology designed for high-density computing environments serving diverse clients. The facility offers both cloud-based computing solutions and dedicated hosting arrangements.
Bitdeer has established Q1 2028 as the target completion date for its entire 350MW capacity initiative. Infrastructure development follows a demand-driven model based on secured contracts throughout the company’s international data center network. Malaysia offers strategic advantages including established power infrastructure and increasing regional appetite for enterprise-scale computing capabilities.
Currently, Bitdeer maintains an active pipeline of cloud capacity agreements valued above $2 billion spanning roughly 24.5MW. Ongoing negotiations address the A102 facility’s uncontracted capacity alongside multiple additional infrastructure sites. Company leadership anticipates continued pipeline growth in upcoming quarters.
Infrastructure Strategy Extends Beyond Traditional Mining Operations
Bitdeer has strategically diversified beyond Bitcoin mining into advanced computing and high-performance data center operations. Earlier this month, the company executed a 16-year agreement for 121MW capacity at its Tydal, Norway location. This Norwegian contract projects approximately $4.7 billion in revenue throughout its initial duration.
The Tydal project will unfold in two distinct development phases as Bitdeer constructs infrastructure for enterprise-scale computing demands. Phase one is scheduled to begin commercial operations by late 2026. The second phase targets operational launch during Q1 2027.
While Bitdeer continues Bitcoin mining activities across facilities in the United States, Bhutan, Norway and Ethiopia, extended computing service agreements are establishing an alternative revenue channel utilizing existing power and data center assets. The Malaysian agreement further solidifies this expansion approach while supporting Bitdeer’s 350MW infrastructure development roadmap.
