World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency platform supported by the Trump family, has established a partnership with WorldClaw, a Hong Kong-headquartered artificial intelligence service that provides access to models developed by Chinese corporations currently under U.S. national security review.
Through its WorldRouter offering, WorldClaw grants access to approximately 90 different AI models. Close to half of theseā43 specificallyāoriginate from Chinese technology developers such as Alibaba, Baidu, and Z.ai. The service additionally features models from American companies including OpenAI and Anthropic.
USD1, World Liberty’s proprietary stablecoin, is accepted by WorldClaw as a payment method. The Trump family controls 38% of World Liberty’s equity and receives revenue through its cryptocurrency token ecosystem, including a portion of interest generated from assets supporting USD1.
U.S. Government Restrictions on Chinese AI Firms
The U.S. Department of Defense has classified Alibaba and Baidu as entities with Chinese military connections, prohibiting American government agencies from conducting business with them. Z.ai appears on the Commerce Department’s Entity List, which substantially restricts its access to American technology and partnerships.
Additional models available through WorldClaw come from DeepSeek and Moonshot. American government officials have leveled accusations against both organizations for allegedly appropriating intellectual property from U.S.-based AI companies. China’s government has rejected these allegations.
Nevertheless, accessing these AI models remains technically legal for American citizens and companies. The primary restrictions target direct business dealings and commercial contracts with entities appearing on U.S. government watchlists.
Ryan Fang, who leads growth initiatives at World Liberty, functions as an external consultant to WorldClaw. His responsibilities reportedly center on expanding USD1 adoption and forging strategic partnerships.
The Trump Family’s Connection to WorldClaw
Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, who co-founded World Liberty, have actively championed WorldClaw through posts on the X social media platform. Trump Jr. has extended invitations for Mar-a-Lago meetings to winners of WorldClaw promotional contests, while Eric Trump characterized the partnership as representing “the future of finance.”
According to Reuters reporting from June, the Trump family has collected over $1.4 billion through World Liberty token transactions, representing the majority of $2.3 billion in aggregate cryptocurrency revenue.
WorldClaw representatives have emphasized that the company functions autonomously from World Liberty. A company spokesperson clarified that providing access to a particular model should not be interpreted as an endorsement of that model’s creator.
David Wachsman, speaking on behalf of World Liberty, noted that prominent American technology corporations similarly provide Chinese AI models to their users. “This is a common and widely accepted approach,” he stated.
White House officials have declared that “no conflicts of interest” exist in this business arrangement.
Security analysts have identified potential vulnerabilities associated with Chinese AI technologies, including possible surveillance by Chinese governmental entities and the risk of censored or manipulated responses. WorldClaw maintains that it implements privacy protections and security measures, though the company acknowledges that user data may be transmitted to the original model developers.
WorldRouter presently supports more than 10,000 active users and handles in excess of 50 million computational tasks each day.
