Dell entered Wednesday’s session with existing positive momentum. The stock had finished the previous trading day at $440.97, meaning Wednesday’s rally delivered approximately $44 in gains per share.
The underlying fundamentals support this market reaction. Dell began its fiscal year carrying a $43 billion backlog of AI-focused server commitments. This substantial figure indicates sustained customer demand with no signs of deceleration.
Exceptional Quarterly Performance Drives Confidence
Dell’s latest quarterly performance provided substantial support for investor optimism. The company posted $43.84 billion in revenue, representing an 87.5% increase year-over-year. This figure handily surpassed analyst projections of $35.74 billion.
Earnings per share reached $4.86, exceeding the $2.96 consensus forecast by $1.90. The AI server segment specifically delivered 757% revenue growth during the period, a metric that captures market attention.
Dell has established full-year FY2027 EPS guidance at $17.90 and Q2 2027 guidance at $4.80. Wall Street analysts are currently forecasting $17.77 EPS for the complete fiscal year.
