Key Highlights
The Financial Conduct Authority granted Robinhood registration to deliver cryptocurrency services across the United Kingdom.
This registration arrives ahead of the UK’s comprehensive crypto regulatory system implementation.
Second-quarter 2026 revenue reached $1.3 billion for Robinhood, representing a 32.25% annual increase.
Revenue from transactions climbed 44% to reach $776 million in the same period.
Revenue from event contracts surged to $156 million from the prior year’s $10 million.
The trading platform Robinhood (HOOD) has obtained registration from UK authorities to deliver cryptocurrency services, earning placement on the Financial Conduct Authority’s official list of authorized cryptoasset providers.
On July 31, the FCA officially listed Robinhood’s UK entity on its register. This registration validates that the platform complies with anti-money laundering requirements for financial service providers.
FCA Grants Crypto Authorization to Robinhood
The United Kingdom established its cryptoasset registration program in 2020. The register currently features over 50 companies, with participants including Ripple, Kraken, BlackRock, and BNY.
The platform can now offer crypto services throughout the UK under current regulations. This authorization positions Robinhood advantageously ahead of the upcoming comprehensive licensing process.
Applications for the new system will be accepted starting late September. The submission window closes at the conclusion of February 2027, with the complete regulatory framework scheduled to launch in October 2027.
United Kingdom Advances Comprehensive Crypto Framework
The limited application window could benefit organizations that already satisfy FCA requirements. Companies holding current registrations have passed evaluations concerning anti-money laundering protocols and operational governance.
Robinhood must still comply with final requirements when the updated system becomes operational. The platform’s existing registration may streamline the subsequent authorization process.
This development occurs as UK authorities construct a comprehensive framework for crypto trading, asset custody, and associated services. The forthcoming regime will supersede the limited framework currently in place.
