TLDR
- Pi Network has 17.7M KYC completions and 16.2M Mainnet migrations.
- Over 421,000 active nodes support the Pi Network ecosystem.
- The network hosts 46,000+ apps and 148,000 local commerce sellers.
- PiRC1 token design channels resources to liquidity pools for utility.
Pi Network founder Nicolas Kokkalis shared an update with the community on February 26. The update follows the network’s one-year anniversary since the Open Network launch. Kokkalis stated that the team remains focused on completing KYC verification and Mainnet migration.
He noted that improvements in AI-assisted verification aim to speed up the process for users waiting in the queue. Kokkalis said, “Our priority is to increase processing speed and unblock users who are pending migration.” The network currently has over 17.7 million KYC completions and 16.2 million Mainnet migrations.
The team is also preparing for validator rewards expected to start by the end of the quarter. These incentives aim to strengthen verification and improve network performance. Despite some user concerns about delays, the network continues steady progress.
Developer Tools and Application Growth
Beyond user onboarding, Pi Network is improving developer resources. Nicolas Kokkalis said the team is updating SDKs and other developer tools. The goal is to make app creation easier and expand the Pi App Studio features.
Currently, over 46,000 apps have been developed on the network. Developers can now use AI-assisted tools to simplify operations. Projects like MapOfPi and RESonPI demonstrate early real-world adoption. Kokkalis emphasized that practical applications remain a top priority for the network.
PiRC1 Token and Ecosystem Updates
Pi Network introduced the PiRC1 token design in February 2026. This model directs resources into liquidity pools rather than teams. Kokkalis said, “The design links token issuance to real app usage and user engagement.”
The approach supports sustainable growth and ensures resources remain in the ecosystem. The hybrid KYC system combines AI and human validation, allowing better compliance and scalability. Analysts are watching how infrastructure upgrades, including protocol version 19.9, will enhance usability.
Community Engagement and Network Metrics
Pi Network reports strong ecosystem metrics. There are over 421,000 active nodes and more than 9 billion Pi tokens transferred to Mainnet wallets. Local commerce adoption continues with 148,000 sellers and 2.1 million users.
Community reactions are mixed, as some users report delays in migration and token access. The Pi Core Team continues to seek community feedback on improvements. Kokkalis stressed the network is focused on verified users and real utility, rather than speculation or fundraising.
