The rally came after the company announced its intention to liquidate Bitcoin holdings to finance its Michigan-based AI data center facility. This strategic decision links treasury assets with infrastructure development and contracted service commitments.
Company Liquidates Bitcoin to Accelerate Data Center Development
Hyperscale Data liquidated approximately 100 Bitcoin, channeling funds toward its Michigan facility expansion. Specific details regarding the transaction date and exact execution price were not revealed. Nevertheless, based on Thursday’s Bitcoin valuation of $64,823, the transaction yielded approximately $6.48 million.
The firm previously disclosed Bitcoin holdings valued around $71 million accumulated through mining operations and treasury strategy. Leadership now seeks to optimize the balance between cryptocurrency holdings and investments in revenue-generating infrastructure. Accordingly, Hyperscale Data maintains substantial Bitcoin exposure while simultaneously funding construction and equipment acquisition.
Proceeds will finance equipment procurement, property development, and other critical infrastructure components. These capital allocations support an existing partnership with a prominent neo-cloud infrastructure provider. Consequently, the firm anticipates accelerated timeline execution for the Michigan location and its planned computational capacity.
Michigan Facility Structured for Substantial Long-Term Revenue
The primary service contract encompasses approximately 20 megawatts of critical computing capacity at the Michigan location. This agreement spans ten years with provisions for two additional five-year renewal periods. With full extension utilization, the arrangement could yield revenue exceeding $1.2 billion.
The partner organization maintains rights to secure an additional 32 megawatts of capacity. This expansion option requires activation within the initial two-year contract window. If exercised and maintained throughout all extension periods, aggregate contract revenue could surpass $3 billion over the complete term.
Leadership characterizes the facility as a significant long-term capital investment and future recurring revenue generator. The company anticipates the location will produce consistent cash flows from infrastructure service delivery. Bitcoin liquidation provides immediate project financing while avoiding additional equity dilution.
Crypto-Collateralized Credit Line Enables Additional Funding
Hyperscale Data simultaneously established a Bitcoin-collateralized credit facility for supplementary project financing. The arrangement features projected variable interest rates ranging from 4.5% to 5.0%. The firm can pledge its remaining Bitcoin reserves as collateral for future borrowing and construction capital needs.
This financing approach provides Hyperscale Data with access to non-dilutive capital at comparatively favorable projected rates. It simultaneously decreases dependency on near-term equity offerings or high-cost debt instruments. Therefore, the organization can minimize shareholder dilution while preserving significant cryptocurrency holdings on its balance sheet.
The approach mirrors similar treasury management shifts among publicly traded cryptocurrency companies financing infrastructure expansion. MARA Holdings liquidated 15,133 Bitcoin during March for approximately $1.1 billion. Hyperscale Data will continue optimizing its cryptocurrency holdings, collateralized lending, and infrastructure expenditures throughout campus development.
