Shares of Datavault AI Inc. (DVLT) experienced a sharp 21.59% decline to $0.3032 on Wednesday, even as the company disclosed impressive second-quarter revenue gains. Trading earlier approached $0.39 before the selloff intensified throughout the session. Despite the negative market reaction, management presented solid quarterly results and reaffirmed its aggressive 2026 revenue expectations.
Q2 Revenue Climbs Nearly 300% Year-Over-Year
Datavault AI posted $6.7 million in total revenue for the three months ending June 30, 2026. This represents a remarkable 287% increase compared to the $1.7 million recorded in the corresponding period of the previous year. The company’s gross profit similarly expanded dramatically, reaching $2.9 million versus just $35,000 twelve months prior.
Nevertheless, the firm’s operational expenditures escalated considerably as management continues deploying capital into technological development and commercial expansion. Spending on research and development surged to $7.2 million, up from $4.2 million in the year-ago quarter. Meanwhile, sales and marketing outlays climbed to $7.2 million from $1.7 million previously.
Administrative and general costs also jumped substantially, rising to $14.9 million from $6.5 million year-over-year. Consequently, while revenue growth proved impressive, the company’s widening expense base remained a significant factor. Datavault AI appears committed to aggressive investment as it develops infrastructure supporting its data monetization and tokenization business model.
Strategic Acquisitions Strengthen Platform Capabilities
During the quarter, Datavault AI finalized its acquisition of NYIAX and integrated the platform into its expanding ecosystem. NYIAX delivers programmatic and blockchain-enabled advertising contract technology, which now enhances the company’s Information Data Exchange infrastructure. This acquisition marks the fifth exchange property within Datavault AI‘s growing technology portfolio.
Additionally, the company entered into a definitive agreement to purchase CyberCatch Holdings via an all-cash transaction. Once completed, this deal will bring cybersecurity expertise and quantum-resistant protection features to the SanQtum edge computing platform. Datavault AI also progressed its collaboration with Fiserv, focusing on integrating data monetization and tokenization capabilities.
The firm advanced SanQtum infrastructure rollouts through its strategic alliance with Available Infrastructure. Early deployments launched in New York and Philadelphia as part of a broader vision for a nationwide distributed computing framework. This infrastructure architecture merges GPU processing power, edge AI functionality, zero-trust security protocols, and quantum-resistant cryptographic protection.
Ambitious Growth Plans Amid Market Skepticism
Following its July announcement, Datavault AI pushed forward with Project Qestrel initiatives. The ambitious project envisions establishing 1,000 secure edge data centers distributed across 100 American cities spanning more than 30 states. The company intends to tokenize computing capacity access and usage rights through its proprietary $QEST utility token framework.
Commercial programs expanded across multiple sectors including sports, entertainment, tokenized assets, and strategic mineral resources. The company’s licensing portfolio features prominent names such as Tyson Fury, Roberto Clemente, Darryl Strawberry, and Dwight Gooden. Datavault AI additionally formalized a partnership with Perpetuals.com to facilitate secondary-market trading of tokenized real-world assets.
Notwithstanding the stock’s sharp retreat, company leadership stood by its full-year 2026 revenue guidance of at least $200 million. Achieving this milestone would constitute roughly 400% year-over-year growth from current levels. However, investor sentiment remained cautious as DVLT stock surrendered 21.59%, closing at $0.3032 following the quarterly disclosure.
