TLDR
- Binance opened U.S. stock and ETF trading, while preparing bStocks for tokenized equity conversion soon.
- Users can buy fractional shares from five dollars using supported stablecoins, BNB, and selected balances.
- Nest Trading will arrange share purchases, and Alpaca will manage custody, dividends, and corporate actions.
- Planned bStocks will let eligible users convert equity holdings into tokens on the BNB blockchain.
- Binance says stock access targets non-U.S. customers facing costs when buying American market exposure abroad.
Binance has launched access to U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs for users in supported markets. The move also sets up its planned bStocks feature on the BNB blockchain. The focus is the future conversion of stock holdings into tokenized assets.
Binance Adds U.S. Stocks as bStocks Plan Takes Shape
The exchange said users can trade more than 7,000 U.S.-listed stocks and ETFs through one Binance account. It described the service as a bridge between crypto and traditional market access. The launch covers fractional purchases, with orders starting from $5. The service applies to users who meet local access rules.
Binance said stock trading will run 24 hours a day, five days a week. Users may fund purchases with supported balances, including USDC, USDT, BNB, and other selected assets. The company said the service carries zero commission fees for stock and ETF trades. This may help traders respond across time zones and market hours.
The platform also charges a minimum platform fee of $0.35 per order. For orders above $350, the fee is 10 basis points. Binance said the model gives users a lower-cost route to U.S. market exposure. The pricing also depends on order size and platform terms.
How bStocks Would Work on BNB Blockchain
The larger change will come through “bStocks,” a planned tokenized stock product. Binance said users will be able to convert equity holdings into blockchain assets. The company plans to release more details in the coming weeks. The tokens would sit on the company’s BNB blockchain.
Binance co-CEO Richard Teng told Fortune that U.S. shares make up well over half of global equities. He said many overseas users face “considerable cost and friction” when buying them. Binance aims to reduce that barrier through fractional access and crypto-based funding. The quote pointed to access issues outside the United States.
The planned tokens will represent selected U.S. stocks and ETFs held through Binance’s stock service. Teng said users could create synthetic versions of certain shares on BNB blockchain. Binance said this conversion feature will arrive after the stock trading rollout. The feature is not yet live, based on the announcement.
That feature would place Binance near firms offering similar stock-linked tokens. Kraken and Robinhood have launched comparable products over the past year. Binance says its model may let customers start the tokenization step themselves. The company did not give a full asset list.
Brokerage Structure and Market Access
Binance said share purchases will be arranged by Nest Trading, a broker dealer. Alpaca, a New York-based firm, will handle custody for the shares. Alpaca will also support dividend payments and corporate actions for eligible holdings.
The setup separates the stock trading service from Binance’s crypto exchange functions. It also gives users a familiar account experience while outside firms handle key market tasks. Binance said products and services may not be available in every region. However, users remain subject to market and regional rules.
The company framed the launch as part of a wider move toward combined financial access. Its users can now hold crypto assets and stock exposure on one platform. The planned bStocks feature adds a blockchain route for selected equity positions.
The announcement follows similar moves by crypto firms seeking stock market products. Coinbase, Kraken, and Robinhood have explored broader trading or tokenized asset services. Binance’s current plan centers on conversion of U.S. stock holdings into BNB blockchain tokens.
