Key Highlights
Aave will discontinue 50 underperforming asset reserves following comprehensive market analysis.
Four blockchain networks—Sonic, Scroll, zkSync, and Aptos—will see Aave deployments phased out.
The optimization initiative affects $98.1 million in total assets with $15.6 million in active loans.
AAVE token advanced to $97.47, maintaining position above critical long-term moving averages.
Traders watch for breakout above $97.63 resistance to confirm momentum toward $98.50 and $100.
AAVE token reached $97.47 following Aave‘s announcement regarding operational streamlining of underutilized assets and blockchain integrations. The digital asset bounced from lows near $96, registering approximately 0.84% gains in the most recent four-hour trading session.
Current price action encounters resistance at the 20-period exponential moving average positioned at $97.63. Breaking through this technical barrier could enable upward movement toward $98.50, potentially opening the path to the psychologically significant $100 threshold.
Protocol Announces Strategic Consolidation Initiative
Stani Kulechov, founder of Aave, revealed plans for systematic discontinuation of 50 asset reserves demonstrating minimal engagement. BlockBeats covered the July 30 disclosure following Aave’s comprehensive evaluation of its supported trading pairs.
The decentralized lending platform will withdraw deployments from Sonic, Scroll, zkSync and Aptos networks. This strategic realignment encompasses 25 distinct asset reserves distributed across these four blockchain ecosystems.
The protocol intends to remove expired Pendle principal token assets from its marketplace. These positions will be substituted with comparable PT assets featuring refreshed maturity schedules.
Token Maintains Position Above Critical Technical Floors
AAVE price continues trading above the 50-period EMA located at $96.56. The token also sustains elevation above the 100-period EMA at $95.00 and the 200-period EMA at $91.95.
This cluster of moving averages establishes a supportive foundation beneath current valuation. Market participants must drive AAVE beyond $97.63 to reinforce the bullish trajectory, with $98.50 representing the subsequent objective.
Sustained advancement past $98.50 would position the $100 benchmark within striking distance. Conversely, another rejection at the 20-period EMA could redirect the token toward $96.50 or potentially $95.00.
The Stochastic RSI indicator approaches oversold conditions. Dual readings register at 14.76 and 7.13, demonstrating that recent selling pressure compressed momentum to depressed levels.

The momentum indicator has begun ascending from oversold zones. This shift indicates potential weakening of bearish control during the current rebound phase.
The technical signal alone cannot validate a complete reversal. AAVE requires amplified purchasing volume and a decisive close above immediate resistance to substantiate additional upside potential.
Futures Market Displays Reserved Sentiment
AAVE open interest contracted from approximately $149.4 million to $148.4 million over the preceding 24-hour period. Price appreciation toward $97.21 occurred simultaneously.
This divergence indicates position closure by certain traders during the price recovery phase. The data reveals that fresh leveraged positions entered the marketplace at measured rates.
Liquidation metrics revealed greater losses concentrated among bullish positions. A prominent long-liquidation event reached approximately $85,000, while additional concentrations registered near $43,000 and $48,000.

Short-position liquidations remained comparatively modest, though one incident approached $45,000. AAVE bulls must now preserve underlying support structures and overcome $97.63 before launching another challenge at the $100 level.
