CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc., CRWD
The move followed a busy day of news. The company unveiled a way to pull the plug on AI agents and agreed to buy two startups.
The tool is called AI Kill Switch, and it lives inside Falcon Guardian. Think of it as a panic button for software that acts on its own.
If an agent strays from its job, a defender can end it wherever it runs. They can also stop it from launching again and cut its access to the company network.
CEO George Kurtz explained the pitch in a press release. âWhen you deploy agents with a kill switch, you stay in control,â he said.
How the Kill Switch Works Today
For now, the switch runs through CrowdStrikeâs AI Gateway. The company plans to stop agents directly on company devices later.
The timing ties to how agents differ from chatbots. A chatbot answers questions, while an agent can step into company systems and take action.
That creates risk. One mistake or a bad instruction could send an agent to sensitive data or into a task it was never meant to do.
The $495 Million Shopping List
CrowdStrike agreed to buy Fiddler AI and Dreadnode for $495 million combined, according to The Wall Street Journal. Fiddler costs about $400 million, and Dreadnode about $95 million.
Dreadnode tests AI systems before they go live. Its software runs more than 100 known attack methods, including tricks meant to make a model ignore its instructions.
Fiddler watches agents after launch. It also helps explain why an agent made a certain decision.
That monitoring technology will join the Falcon platform as Falcon Observe. It will run alongside the kill switch.
Both deals are expected to close in CrowdStrikeâs fiscal fourth quarter, which ends in January 2027. Most of the price will be paid in cash, with a smaller part in stock.
Analysts rate CrowdStrike a Strong Buy. That is based on 34 Buys, six Holds and zero Sells over the past three months.
The average price target is $267.24. That implies about 10.5% upside.
