World, the cryptocurrency identity initiative previously branded as Worldcoin, has unveiled its latest financial platform dubbed World Money. The deployment commenced Thursday and reaches users across more than 150 nations, with functionality differing based on geographic location.
The platform operates on a self-custodial model, granting users complete control over their digital holdings. It facilitates stablecoin transactions, cryptocurrency exchange operations, and reward generation opportunities. The application permits users to maintain balances across eight distinct currencies and transfer supported digital assets to fellow World users through username identification.
Stripe Partnership Brings Apple Pay to Cryptocurrency Transactions
A standout capability stems from World’s collaboration with Stripe. American users now possess the ability to deposit funds into World Money accounts and acquire stablecoins seamlessly via Apple Pay. According to World, these conversions generally complete within mere minutes.
The application additionally provides access to external services through its Mini Apps feature set. Notable integrations encompass Kalshi, a forecasting market service, and Morpho, a decentralized borrowing and lending infrastructure.
World ID, the initiative’s biometric authentication framework, functions as an integrated component. Users completing identity verification procedures receive amplified rewards through participating Earn schemes.
Dual-App Architecture Separates Identity and Financial Services
This deployment introduces a bifurcated approach to World’s service offerings. The World ID App manages identity authentication and credential operations. World Money encompasses wallet functionality, payment processing, and financial management instruments. Previous users of the original World App retain access through their established account credentials.
World Money operates under the management of Tools for Humanity, the enterprise co-established by Sam Altman, who simultaneously directs OpenAI, alongside Alex Blania.
The organization has pursued super app development for an extended period. During March 2025, World incorporated cryptocurrency payment capabilities and messaging functions into its existing application. Subsequently that summer, Circle deployed native USDC on World’s infrastructure, superseding bridged USDC within World App wallet systems.
During October 2024, World revealed World App 3.0, incorporating external Mini Apps and a Vault functionality for asset yield generation. Throughout November 2025, virtual banking accounts entered pilot testing in the United States before geographical expansion one month later. These accounts enabled automatic conversion of salary deposits and bank transfers into USDC.
World emphasizes that its infrastructure centers on authenticated human identity verification. The organization contends that as artificial intelligence simplifies fraudulent account creation, a verified human ecosystem enhances trustworthiness in financial exchanges.
“Money moves differently when accounts belong to people,” World stated in its official announcement.
The introduction of World Money represents the most recent advancement in World’s effort to establish a comprehensive financial ecosystem constructed on cryptocurrency infrastructure and human identity authentication.
