TLDR
- A trio of SpaceXAI team members will construct an entire startup in 72 hours leveraging autonomous AI agents
- Grok Bot Galaxy takes place September 15-17 in San Francisco with free global streaming access
- The participants start with zero preparation — no business concept, product plan, or company identity
- Grok Bot represents SpaceXAI’s autonomous agent platform, distinct from the X-based Grok conversational AI
- The company emerged following SpaceX’s acquisition of xAI in February, establishing a $250 billion valuation
A team of three SpaceXAI professionals will undertake an ambitious experiment: constructing a complete startup in 72 consecutive hours while broadcasting every moment online.
The participants—Matt Palmer, Lauren Tan, and Roshan Sadanani—will begin their challenge on September 15, concluding on September 17. This initiative, branded as Grok Bot Galaxy, will unfold at a San Francisco location.
Daily programming spans 8:30 a.m. through 6 p.m. Pacific time. Viewers worldwide can access the event through a complimentary livestream.
The participants begin with a completely blank slate. They have no predetermined business name, product concept, or strategic direction. Every critical decision will emerge organically during the live broadcast.
Understanding Grok Bot’s Capabilities
Central to this experiment is Grok Bot, SpaceXAI’s autonomous agent platform. This system differs fundamentally from the Grok conversational interface available on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
Grok Bot enables users to design AI agents, assign them identities, establish goals, and activate them across various digital platforms. These agents operate continuously on dedicated cloud infrastructure, managing complex, multi-stage operations without interruption.
The builders will deploy Grok Bot throughout concept development, strategic planning, product discussions, and technical implementation. Additional team members will participate in focused sessions addressing sales strategies, customer service protocols, and promotional campaigns.
The platform became publicly accessible just one month ago.
Background on SpaceXAI
SpaceXAI originated when SpaceX completed its acquisition of xAI through an all-stock transaction in February, establishing xAI’s worth at $250 billion. The company subsequently acquired software development company Cursor for $60 billion in August.
Elon Musk has made ambitious public statements regarding Grok’s capabilities throughout the year. An uninterrupted three-day construction process presents significantly greater difficulty to orchestrate than brief demonstration videos.
However, this remains a company showcasing its proprietary technology. The extent of human intervention—including guidance, corrections, and direct involvement—will be crucial to observe.
The timing coincides with competing AI laboratory Anthropic releasing research on Claude model misuse, examining cybersecurity operations and fraudulent activities. Musk has conceded that Grok doesn’t currently dominate in certain application areas.
Industry-wide concerns persist regarding responsibility when AI agents operate autonomously without continuous human oversight.
When the broadcast concludes on September 17, viewers will determine whether the team has produced a functional product with genuine users, or merely created branding and a website placeholder.
