Shares of Mobix Labs (MOBX) exploded more than 40% during Tuesday’s trading session, reclaiming the $1 threshold, following disclosure of the company’s inaugural production contract for Lockheed Martin F-16 Fighting Falcon components. At its intraday high, the stock reached approximately $1.32.

A veteran-owned domestic aerospace sustainment provider working with the Air Force’s F-16 program placed the order. The contract encompasses electromagnetic interference-filtered connectors manufactured by the company’s EMI Solutions division at its defense-certified production facility located in Irvine, California.

The company has completed initial product deliveries. Full order fulfillment is anticipated within the next several weeks.

These specialized EMI-filtered connectors serve a crucial function by safeguarding electronic systems against electromagnetic interference. Within contemporary fighter aircraft, multiple critical systems—including radar arrays, communication equipment, navigation instruments, electronic warfare suites, and weapons platforms—operate in extremely close quarters, necessitating robust electromagnetic shielding.

Chief Executive Officer Phil Sansone highlighted the company’s established performance on the F-22 platform as proof of its capability to scale within flagship fighter programs. “The F-16 represents another important expansion of Mobix Labs’ position across major U.S. military aircraft programs,” he stated.

In April, the company disclosed an approximately fivefold surge in F-22 Raptor component orders following receipt of new and enhanced agreements from two F-22 tier-two suppliers. Management characterizes this F-16 contract as a continuation of that positive momentum.

Extended Service Life for F-16 Platform

The F-16 represents one of the most numerous fighter platforms within U.S. Air Force operations, deployed across active-duty squadrons, Air National Guard wings, and Air Force Reserve units.

Through the Air Force’s Service Life Extension Program, upgraded F-16 variants are being extended from their initial 8,000-hour airframe limit to as much as 12,000 flight hours. This modernization effort is projected to maintain certain fleet segments in operational status approaching 2050. Additionally, production of new F-16 Block 70/72 variants continues for international partners, ensuring sustained production and support infrastructure for the foreseeable future.

Expanding Defense Platform Portfolio

With this F-16 award, Mobix Labs now serves four distinct fighter aircraft programs. The company’s fighter jet customer base includes the F-22 Raptor, F-35 Lightning II, F/A-18 Super Hornet, and now the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

Beyond fighter platforms, the company provides components for Apache attack helicopters, naval vessel secure communication systems, various missile programs, Gulfstream business aircraft, and FAA-certified Boeing 737NG onboard equipment.

Lockheed Martin (LMT) shares also experienced gains, climbing approximately 1.7% during the session.

MOBX traded up 41.92% to $1.32 on Tuesday, marking what would be its first positive trading day in September.
