- U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds attracted $39.78 million in net inflows from Aug. 17ā21.

XRP delivered one of its most impressive weekly performances in recent months, climbing approximately 53% during a single week. Data from CoinMarketCap indicated the digital asset was changing hands around $1.47 on Aug. 24, fluctuating between $1.46 and $1.54 throughout the day.

This price action pushed XRP to a threshold that has historically acted as a barrier to further gains. Market analyst Ash Crypto characterized it as approaching a seven-month peak. Meanwhile, analyst Pumpius observed that the upward movement commenced from approximately $0.985.
Market commentator Crypto Patel highlighted $1.55 as the crucial resistance point ahead. According to his analysis, a confirmed breakout above this zone could fuel additional upside momentum. However, he cautioned that failure to breach this level might trigger a pullback toward lower price floors.
The daily peak at $1.54 positioned XRP just beneath the critical $1.55 threshold, establishing it as an immediate hurdle. Meanwhile, XRP Update highlighted that market participants successfully defended the $1.45 price zone on multiple trading platforms.
Exchange-Traded Fund Flows Strengthen
U.S. spot XRP exchange-traded funds attracted $39.78 million in net inflows throughout the Aug. 17ā21 trading week, representing the most robust weekly performance since May. Total cumulative net inflows have now reached approximately $1.55 billion. Data from Friday showed about $18 million in flows, with Bitwise, Grayscale, and Franklin leading the charge.
This marked a dramatic turnaround from earlier in August when weekly inflows plummeted roughly 93% to a mere $1.01 million. The combined net assets under management in XRP ETF products stood near $940 million.
Futures Market Engagement Expands
According to CoinGlass analytics, XRP futures open interest registered at $3.72 billion on Aug. 24. Trading volume in futures contracts over a 24-hour period reached $8.84 billion, while spot market volume measured approximately $1.89 billion.
The substantial disparity between futures and spot trading volumes indicates heightened leveraged trading activity. This dynamic can amplify price swings near critical resistance zones and elevate liquidation risks should upward momentum weaken.
Blockchain metrics provided additional context. Analyst Ali Charts observed that XRP active addresses exploded by 654.71%, surging from 47,180 to 356,070. According to Ali Charts, such dramatic increases in network activity typically indicate intensified market engagement and often correlate with heightened price fluctuations.
Ripple disclosed ownership of 37.66 billion XRP as of June 30, with 32.6 billion remaining secured in on-ledger escrow. On Aug. 3, Ripple revealed strategic investments in ZILO and Licuido aimed at broadening transfer agency capabilities and collateral mobility infrastructure.
XRP continues trading well below its all-time peak of $3.84 reached in January 2018. As of Aug. 24, market focus remained concentrated on the $1.45ā$1.55 trading corridor, with particular attention on how the asset responds to the $1.55 resistance barrier.
