The most recent five-day trading window ending August 21 marked the strongest combined performance for U.S. spot Bitcoin and Ethereum ETFs since October 2025, with total net inflows reaching $2.61 billion.
This performance represented a dramatic turnaround from the prior week’s combined net outflow of $391.96 million, creating a roughly $3 billion differential between the two periods.
Bitcoin Products Dominate Weekly Inflows
Bitcoin-focused exchange-traded funds accumulated $1.92 billion throughout the week, with momentum accelerating progressively. The period started with $297 million on August 17, expanded to $517 million by August 19, and reached a weekly high of $606 million on August 20 before moderating to $307 million in the final session.
BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust commanded the largest share during every trading session. The fund alone captured $239 million on August 21, representing nearly 78% of the day’s aggregate Bitcoin ETF inflows.
Since its inception, the iShares Bitcoin Trust has accumulated $62.43 billion in cumulative net inflows. Fidelity’s competing product added $30 million on the same day, pushing its lifetime total to $10.18 billion.
The collective net assets across all U.S. spot Bitcoin ETFs now stand at $96.07 billion, equivalent to 6.17% of Bitcoin’s entire market capitalization.
The $1.92 billion weekly figure represents the strongest performance since October 2025, when these products recorded weekly inflows of $2.71 billion and $3.24 billion during separate periods.
Ethereum ETFs Deliver Impressive Results
Ethereum-focused ETFs generated $697 million in net inflows over the identical five-session period, marking their strongest weekly showing in recent months. Daily contributions escalated from $30 million on August 17 to $221 million on August 20, before concluding at $185 million on August 21.
BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust commanded Friday’s session with $151 million in new capital. Grayscale’s Ethereum Mini Trust captured an additional $11.5 million during the same period.
By session close, aggregate net assets held within Ether ETFs totaled $14.30 billion, corresponding to 4.85% of Ethereum’s overall market capitalization.
The weekly aggregate surpassed the entirety of July’s performance, when Ether ETFs accumulated just $365 million throughout the entire month.
Bitcoin’s valuation surged approximately 18% across two consecutive days, breaching resistance levels at $65,000, $70,000, and $75,000 before exceeding $76,000 on August 21. Ether similarly advanced roughly 18% within a single 24-hour period, climbing above the $2,400 threshold.
Nick Ruck, Director of Research at LVRG Research, emphasized that additional confirmation of sustained inflows would be necessary before declaring a durable upward trend.
Market participants have begun allocating capital toward alternative cryptocurrencies. Bitcoin Cash appreciated 31% on August 21, while Ethena recorded a 27% gain. Bitcoin dominance maintained levels near 59.8%, and the Altcoin Season Index registered 33 out of 100.
