Key Highlights
Mainnet validators must finish version 26 installation by August 11, according to Pi Network’s latest announcement.
Protocol version 25 deployment has been confirmed complete through the version 26 update notice.
The upcoming version 26 represents the penultimate upgrade before version 27 arrives.
Eight protocol updates have been rolled out across the network in recent months.
PI token climbed back to approximately $0.082 following a breakout above short-term descending trendline resistance.
The Pi Network development team has established August 11 as the final date for Mainnet validators to implement protocol version 26. This announcement simultaneously verifies that version 25 has been successfully integrated into the network, even though the Core Team released no standalone confirmation.
Meanwhile, PI price has rebounded following a recent market downturn. The digital asset hovered around $0.082 on Thursday as market participants successfully defended crucial support zones and drove the price beyond a near-term resistance trendline.
Network Advances Toward Version 26 Protocol Implementation
Pi Network has instructed all validators operating on the Mainnet to finalize version 26 installation procedures ahead of the August 11 cutoff. Validators who complete the upgrade will maintain their connection to the blockchain infrastructure and preserve their ability to participate in network validation activities.
According to the Core Team, version 26 constitutes a critical milestone preceding the ultimate scheduled release, version 27. The blockchain has processed eight separate upgrades throughout recent months as the development team integrates advanced protocol capabilities and enhances overall network efficiency.
Protocol Version 25 Successfully Integrated
Validators received instructions to finalize protocol version 25 by July 22 based on earlier communications from the Core Team. The team, however, opted against issuing a formal completion announcement via official channels or social platforms.
Multiple community sources subsequently reported that validators had transitioned to version 25. The recent version 26 announcement serves as official verification that the previous upgrade concluded successfully and that the overall enhancement roadmap has progressed into its concluding phases.
This upgrade sequence commenced in February when the network introduced version 19.6. Pi Network proceeded through multiple iterations before arriving at the current versions 25 and 26.
PI Token Overcomes Near-Term Resistance Barrier
PI token reached approximately $0.082 following its rebound from July’s significant price drop. Market buyers successfully propelled the token beyond a descending resistance trendline, though the broader market framework continues to show weakness.
The previous resistance zone around $0.096 currently serves as the initial recovery objective. Breaking through this threshold could enable PI to challenge the 50-day Exponential Moving Average positioned at $0.104.
Additional resistance barriers emerge near $0.118 and the 100-day EMA at $0.125. The 200-day EMA located at $0.165 presents a more substantial obstacle for any prolonged upward movement.

The Relative Strength Index currently registers around 37, demonstrating that downward pressure has diminished while buyers maintain a measured approach. The indicator has begun climbing away from oversold territory following PI’s recent pullback.
The Moving Average Convergence Divergence indicator has likewise shifted into marginally positive territory. This development suggests enhancing near-term momentum, though it falls short of confirming a broader trend shift.
Support holds firm around $0.075. PI may remain confined to a consolidation pattern provided buyers continue protecting this zone. A decisive breach below this level could trigger another downward leg, whereas a climb above $0.096 might reinforce the ongoing recovery trajectory.
